swift VDI will be perfect for you
abhi, thanks for ur suggestion, but, swift interiors aren’t cramped?
The Figo Titanium Plus diesel would fit comfortably in your budget and meet most of your priorities. The Vista LX also is a good choice.
well if space is such a issue go for I20 u will love it.
punto active for 6.48 lakhs followed by vista VX(with ABS and superb audio player with bluetooth) for 6.52lakhs, then swift vdi(no ABS) for 6.9 lakhs or vista LX for 6.02 lakhs. go for VISTA. ultimate car under ur budget and loaded wit lots of features and safety.
swift vdi is the best for all your dreams but not only the dreams but it gives lot more satisfaction the worth of money you bought it for.its big++++++++ is milege and maintance cost of the super car
go fr vw polo comfortline model… amazing space, amazing interior quality.. amazing mileage(20+)… good body… maintainence after every 15000 kms(even the first one)… 12 yr body warranty… amazing ride quality…
go for the Ford Figo ,for your budget and your requirements, !!! or the tata indica vista Figo has good space and the vista has a bit more in it !! both the vehicles are usually hastle free , though figo scores on that aspect. happy chosing
wtevr evrybdy saying here…….if there is no w8ing swift vdi is 1st preferance of evr 1 …. sm 1 talking abt interiors ….swift got decent interiors…..u wana go long run go blindly for swift ……but w8ing is still there
go for Fiat Grande Punto Solid Built, Heavy Doors, Solid side pillars, Best in class driving control, Most safe car, its quite roomy and solid suspension, superior and refined engine …
it depends wat ur looking for in a car….. if you want a good resale,n cheap service then go for the swift, the ritz is good but it gets kinda cramped for a large person… the figo is a good buy, but lacks power n the topend doesnt cm wid pwr windows at the back(no idea why)… i dont trust tatas or fiats coz ive had horrible experiences wid…[Read more]

Are you willing to spend a bit more? The Dzire won’t suit you because of the seating problem you mentioned. If you can spend a bit more, you have the Fiesta Classic – it is better than the Dzire in seating space and luggage space. and it is a proven car.
What you’ve said about the Dzire is true. It is definitely going to be cramped for you. As for the Manza Quadrajet VX, it’s a good car, with a proven engine (same Fiat 1.3 multijet 90 bhp as in the SX4). However, in terms of longevity, you may not be entirely happy with service after a few years. One more car that you can consider, but will be a…[Read more]
@Mathew, thank you for recommendations. Yes Ford Fiesta is good car,can say a power machine..But personally i dnt like car’s shape. Then(question arise) what about Swift Dezire & Tata Manza.. Swift Dezire can’t understand why people is loving this car most, so may be that’s the thing attracting to me…[Read more]
@Robin,Thanks for your time & suggestion, I doubt Dezire’s Plastic quality is harder than Tata Manza(Is that true, have you noticed the same?).”you may not be entirely happy with service after a few years” does it mean to car parts after few years or Tata services for car? Nissan Sunny, I love the car, thanks for perfect car suggestion(I believe…[Read more]
Haven’t heard about any shape change for the Manza – but the Manza is not a hit car, so they might try to change it. About Nissan, Nissan is opening a lot of service centers and dealerships across the country, so in one year’s time, probably you will see a lot of places. One car I missed is the Etios – I personally feel the car is very basic…[Read more]
let me share a couple of points…. 1. manza comes with 90 ps engine where as nissan, renault and ford come with 68ps eng., i am based at gujarat and have seen tata after sales service standards, they are good, you do not feel cheated for the car care… i am not sure about other places…. plus the amount of money that you need to spend for the…[Read more]
Jaydev has a valid point. Your local Tata dealer may actually be a professional. Please check with someone nearby who owns a tata car and ask about their service experience. The car by itself is very value for money, and spacious.
I meant quality of service after a few years at Tata service centers (when suspension jobs / brake jobs or other mechanical jobs are needed). Plastic quality is pretty decent in the Manza – it has a soft touch dashboard and a plush feel. Yes, some bits like the door handles and the floor console still have some panel gaps, but these are not…[Read more]
There is another option – the Chevrolet Aveo. It will be outdated in 4 years though. But it is likely to have more space than the Dzire in the front, and a bigger boot.
No diesel option with the Aveo.
My mistake, no diesel with Aveo! If you feel confident about manza after talking to at least one owner, then I think that’s the car for you. It is extreme value for money for sure.
I have sold my Manza in just 2 years when the car had done only 25k Kms. The suspension and the power steering had problems since the beginning. TML and TM Authorized Service centres failed to repair it after several attempts. I initially booked Dzire and when Manza got launched was deceived by it looks and features and bought it. Later I regret…[Read more]
Thanks for that info, Puneet. have you asked other Manza owners if they have faced similar problems? Did Tata guys say anything about it – that it was common etc?
Well, thanks for all your decisions & suggestions. I have to be hurry for purchasing the Diesel car as there are expectations of price rise near about 50000/- to 80000/-. I have set 95% mind on TATA Manza & remain 5% on Dezire. 1 of the major cause is, MANZA is avail too quickly compare to Dezire.I will choose white color Manza…@Punnet, thanks…[Read more]
@ Roshun & Mathew..THnaks for your support, I m looking forward te be in touch with you guys…
Good to know, shailandra
Let us know when you get the car!
There are many other people who are facing problems with their Manza. Car drifting towards left is the common problem in most of Manza’s and the manza owner’s I know. For me Tata Motors tried n number of times to fix the steering problem but failed and then they started acting funny by saying that there is no hardness in the steering. I did not…[Read more]
@Mathew:- May be this Sunday(25032012) i will have delivery of my TATA Manza AURA ABS QUDRAJET…Thanks for wishes..
@Punit :- Car drifting towards left will help me to learn car drifting…If you are facing problem in Steering then it is your job to make it perfect from TATA motors & not to accept any entertaining excuses from TATA..For law suite-no comments.I hope u r shoulders r just fine after Dezire…It seems like you are purchasing Maruti Swift Dezire by…[Read more]
I have a Manza Aura quadrajet .. and This much better than dezire … No problem till Now. It has gr8 comfort ride quality and power. If you are a calm and peaceful driver then go for Manza, But if u are a rash driver, going at 140-150 kmpl and a need perfect control then just go for Linea. other wise Manze has a good control till 120.
Ashish Saini, Shailendra – could you both fill out this simple form? https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/viewform?formkey=dEtyLUY5QVJLd1dNX1IxQmFLR3NhS2c6MQ#gid=0 It will help us a lot!
Manza scores much higher both in terms of ‘look-n-feel’ and features than the new model of Swift Dezire. I would suggest you to go with Manza Quadrajet.
Why dont you look at the Nissan Sunny Diesel?
Hey just check Mahindra Verito D6 Diesel, it’s a huge car and all your family members will enjoy the ride on the back seat, trust me on that, rest trust on Mahindra, it’s a value for money car
its amazing people still buying petrol…..just wanna say hathi kharid to lenge par paalege kaise??
go for diesel it wont recover in 3 yrs bt may b in 5 yrs but nobody knows petrol may b 100/lit after few months…..of if u can adjust with cng then its another option.
go for ritz diesel..have good mileage n good performance
Out of these swift is the leader but my pick out of this is punto. Its a great handler and a head turner on road for sure with adequate power and features…
vikas i think diesel car is 1 lac higher priced, i can use that money to drive petrol atleast for 3 years as my daily running is not much, correct me if i am wrong. please help me choosing car considering all aspects.
Well you say you wont drive your car more than 50kms a day and your budget is well given. At 5.5 lakhs on-road you will get I10 sports model, and the petrol engine is refined as well. The maintenance is a bit higher than that of maruti but its manageable.Else if you need a great petrol motor will aggressive looks then have a look the Brio which is…[Read more]
Go for diesel….
u can buy nissan sunny
?@vishwas i’ll definatly think on brio, thanks for info. @upendra well lower model showroom price is 5.80, it wont fit in my budget for on road price.
i’ll go for diesel its better to give money once n njoy. giving 500-1000 everyday or in 2 days is painful . now adays diesel technology is competing petrol no doubt .cars like bmw n skoda cums in diesel no 1 can say diesel have low pick up or sumthng…….i’ll alwys go fr diesel
as per ur requirement i think u shud go for SWIFT. as its looks good, the engine is also frugal, has low maintenance cost its A.S.S. is also good. Also look for i20.only its draw back is its less frugal.but a safe &sturdy car.
?@vikas well can you give me some diesel cars which fits in my budget
@yogesh ty mate.
Indica eV2 top model? what about this car?
first think of buying some petrol .. then we can think of buying a car
There’s nothing worng in going for Indica eV2 if you are not concerned of its’TAXI’ where many of them consider as one.Well why do taxi market owns this car? because its fuel efficient and VFM.So the features are good in the LX trim, but the rear power windows are missing. But you get a good music system with alloy wheels and the seats are very…[Read more]

ya fir Tata Nano
kya time pass kar raha hai Pravin Sivan
life hi time pass hai mere bhaii … opinions bahut honge … but ek cheez bolta hoon … visit 5 to 10 showrooms of different brans
then sit at home n do a swat analysis .. then Buy
In which city do you reside?
pune
yes Pravin Sivan nice idea. ty… if i get little idea which cars are better with all aspects, it will be easier to decide after showroom visit.
u cav also go for Ford Figo…
diesel car – nt ev2 its nt upmarket bt vista is a great one.u will get the base model in less than 5 50 i guess.base model have atleast ac power steering etc. but if u can manage around 6 then u can get vista vx loaded wid feautes n also has abs.
u hav to adjust sumwhere vista offers d most space even most of d sedan dont have such xcept of tata’s. if u want space then vista is great bt tata service is nt vry gud.. swift is also an option bt has less space n waitng tym bt service is gud
space wise figo is gud bt i alwys read mixed reviews about it awsum car,bad car no one says nrml car
?@vikas thanks for info, visited tata showroom (padit auto) yesterday, i am 6.3 feet tall and vista car roof was just touching head, was not feeling comfortable.. after asking sales executive he said only top end models have driver seat height adjustment. i liked the car but height seems be an issue.
so which 1 u decide
today visited 2 showrroms ford(figo), hyundai(i20)…. i20 is spacious but seems overpriced and not much pickup. figo looks just ok car but waiting period for both car is more than 1 month. (they have lots of booking pending for diwali)
visiting maruti today evening for swift and ritz… btw tata guys just called and are ready to give ev2 lx immediately.
i guess swift would be the right option..considering your daily run and the budget, u shud b prety o rather mre hapier with its perfomance n quality..morova it has excellent afta sale service n is also high on resale lookin at its demand..also has a good design n mileage,, o if can wait for decmber for new swift desire compact wich would hardly…[Read more]
thanks @rajneesh, vikas, rajat, vishwas, pravin, apurba, upendra, yogesh & sonia for suggestions and helping me choose car. maruti test drive for both cars was nice. ritz seems just ok to me, nice height and space in car..body shape not so impressive and looks more compact. swift drive feel was impressive, suspension and pickup was…[Read more]
should i stretch budget and get zdi with all features or vdi without abs is ok? is it worth paying 80000 extra for those features?
i think its of no use 2 pay dat extra amount..n ma frnd u made a rite choice on swift..grt car with grtst of the perfrmanc in d segment..n considering ur run, petrol wud b js fin….as also to knowledge u mre, looking at d downfall of petrol variants, government is tryin 2 get d diff betwn petrol n diesel closer fr atlst the private vehicles if not…[Read more]
yes, except India all other countries are charging diesel with just 5-10% difference(even in pakistan its 94rs petrol – 79 rs diesel). well there is no guarantee of petrol either.. from last june 2010 our so called govt. has increased almost 19rs. frget about cars
Just keep two options Toyota Liva and i10 1.2 kappa engine.
swift is also a good option but price is very high for swift .
i20 sportzz
i20 spertz after disounts costs exact 5.50 lakhs on road
New Swift is gr8 go for it..
Go for Skoda Fabia Active plus or Liva G variant!!!!!!
among these cars, the swift makes the best choice. consider the brio as well or even the jazz if you can stretch a bit
I like Grande Punto but Swift and Hyundai i20 are safer options. i20 has more space so if you frequently lug 5 people, its a better option. Also the ride is quite comfy though handling is so so. If you want great handling and slightly less space is not a problem, then there is nothing to beat Swift.
why BEAT diesel is not considered so far ?
better go with chevrolet beat diesel
Why don’t you got a 3/4 years old Honda City, Maruti SX4 or Honda Civic. One of my friends recently bought a 4 year old (but very good, almost new like condition) Honda Civic only for 5.25 Lakhs.
i20 magna…
ford figo,,ritz..diesel could be an option
I want to buy a new car and i have shortlisted toyota liva G,nissan Micra XE and Hyundai I10 magna.Guys kindly advice me with ref. to Performance,Comfort, maintainance cost etc….
Kumar Bhawarji petrol car within budget of 5.5 lac is i think Maruti Swift LXI 1.2 L, 1197 cc K series engine (5.38 IN DELHI) on road price & Mileage is City 15.7 & Highway 18.1 with good turning radius for city rid i think this is economic car 4 u. looking for a safe, comfortable and good looking car go with PUNTO 1.2 active fire engine (5.70…[Read more]
