A soft suspension provides a silent and pillowy ride at low speeds. Ideal for city usage. But handling gets compromised and the car bounces around at speed. Also, not good for driving when loaded. A stiff suspension will ensure better handling and a flat ride at speed, along with better manners under load. But the car will throw you around a fair…[Read more]
Which diesel hatch has soft and stiff set up??
Swift has a stiff set up. The i20 has a soft set up.
So, does it mean that car with soft set up is not great to drive on highways and a good miler in city only. Also is it that manufacturers who prefer sot suspension set up is less expensive or cost of production is lesser compared to cars with stiff suspension.
Soft suspension generally means average manners at speed. You cant link it to the costs though.
Punto, Vista D90, Figo and in city, the Micra. The i20 can also be decent fun in certain conditions.
I20 Diesel id most fun to Drive!! 105 @ 2k Rpm and the Longest Turbo Spooling Range would nake you smile with 6 speed Gear box is a Dream!!
I would second the choices Shreyans has and would also add the Swift diesel to it. I kind of like its handling.
Swift Diesel and Ford Figo.
the only sole reason is the mileage …. and subsidy indian govt. offers on diesel …. if you’re planning for a kit, opt for petrol, but the engine performance notches down by 10% by kit (cng) ….
Vento diesel is having powerful torque figures.and much more fuel efficient than city.Even if diesel subsidy not there, atleast 20-25% more fuel efficient than petrolcity. It pulls like a train and that turbo boost is enormous and addictive.
Go goa..where Diesel is costly then Petrol..Why diesel man!!
I always suggest people to buy diesel cars.People say that it doesn’t make much of a difference if you buy a petrol car or diesel car but my answer always is not to them NO, it does make a lot of difference Firstly petrol and diesel prices are never ever going to be the same diesel will always be more cheaper fuel and even if petrol gets cheaper…[Read more]
Both have their advantages. Diesels make more torque and give 25% better fuel efficiency. Petrols are more refined, lower on maintenance. If fuel prices were to become equal, those who have long drives would be better off with a diesel, while petrols would appeal to buyers looking at regular commutes. See more here:…[Read more]
I believe the skoda superb has a really powerful AC.
Among premium hatchbacks – the Ford Figo has a pretty good AC. Among hatches, the Alto K10 is quite good. Others please chip in with which one’s you’ve experienced that are really cool in the true sense of the word. Among sedans, I’ve found the Verna’s AC, Ford Fiesta and Maruti SX4′s AC quite decent.
The Nano has a chiller of an AC. Figo’s AC is very good. Same for the City, Fiesta, Linea Tjet and like. Cooling is not an issue with any of the sedans.
ford figo has a great ac in all the other hot hatchbacks. after the tata nano.
chevrolet beat,figo nano indigo cs
amongst the hatch, Toyota Etios Liva has decent AC.
chevy sail
Sail, my friend, has one of the worst ACs in the business
ritz ac is superb … its powerful than fabia …. well fabia is definitely a point ahead always let it be engine, luggage space, built quality …. but this ac in ritz is sure winner here … i personally felt it …. fabia is grey and my ritz is mystic red …. both cars stood in sun blaze for approx. 2 hrs. …. we entered together started the…[Read more]
Punto/i20 and swift all same in cooling.
I would take the Yeti any given day. The Ertiga is a stretched Swift platform while the Duster is on the Logan, XUV is Mahinda’s first monocoque while the Xylo is a body roll champion in this list.
Yeti. Heads, shoulders, backs, legs and feet above the rest.
yeti will win a day on rest of the players.
of course Yeti but one thing will bite being an SUV its FWD drive
Mahindra Xylo is equally (or perhaps – more) spacious with equally good seating comforts but it’s the Innova, which is the best selling car between 10L and 15L price range for the right reasons – fantastic engine (in fact, in both the cars – if you consider the mHawk) with immense power, superb balance of ride + handling (from MUV standards),…[Read more]
Ride quality and fit and finish, the Innova is much better than the Xylo. In terms of seating space, the Xylo is better. It also has a better engine now with the mHawk engine being used across Xylo variants. Plus, when it comes to value for money the Xylo has an edge – because the Innova is nearly Rs 2 lakh more variant for variant!
Here’s an old comparison between these two (this was with the MEagle engine – which was also more powerful than the Innova): http://www.cartoq.com/new-2012-mahindra-xylo-vs-new-2012-toyota-innova/
Toyota Innova is much better.
Mahindra Xylo superior in every term which u have asked for,Except ride and handling. .i.e power mileage space engine technology.Much cheaper too…But i must mention,Toyota innova’s engine is bullet proof in terms of reliability but feels strained and noisy above 110km/hr
innova is a much better option . XYLO is just like a paper bag its so light weight ( which a SUV should not be) i.e it will make noise above speed bar of about 100km/h . it will even vibrate.
the gear of XYLO will also shake alot after 1-2 years which is difficult to find in innova
Xylo slightly more fuel efficient and much powerful 120bhp now with mHawk engine as compared to 102bhp of innova. And fun part is no more price increment.. Innova is massively overpriced and now there are much better options available if you dont want to spend too much. 2 lakh difference is not worth it.
put a plastic protection film …. generally a car is already painted twice, the hard coat and clear coat, still at zones prone to more frictional activities like the door sills, sharpy edges of bonnet, A & C pillars, the paint peels off … get protection films for these areas, … remember with climate changes, you might notice bubbles, its…[Read more]
you can use somes waxes like collonite 845, meguiars wax etc….
frequent use of wax/polish or 3m treatment (3 coat)
bad and not comfortable either. At fuel stations you have to literally come out, open the bonnet and refuel the car, it seems funny as if you are refueling a scooter.
What’s the big deal? CNG is also filled through the bonnet.
In any case, many sports cars have their fuel tank up front. This is not something unique to the Nano. I’ll just add that the people who designed this wonder of a car are smarter than me and you. Trust them to have done their homework for something as fundamental as the fuel tank.
I am not saying about the design if by any scenario hit the front vehicle or any objects, Is it safety if you have fuel tank front?
There is reinforcement up front. Contrast this to the normal furl tank position on the underside of the vehicle, where it is prone to getting scraped by large speed breakers on a daily basis. There is no protection down there. Leaking fuel tanks due to underbody impact are quite common.
Leave the front end refueling …many nano got burned while driving..now that is too ridiculous…
Come on man, that’s history. Everyone knows that was due to faulty installation of aftermarket electronics. BTW, 3 cars caught fire in all. A Civic caught fire in the T3 tunnel last month. Newspapers report an incident just about every other day. Who can forget that R8 going up in flames at the Sealink during the supercar parade a few months back.…[Read more]
analyze the sales figure of past 6-8 months for nano..it has negative sales figure which is great concern for a buyer..it is better to put 50-80k and go for alto 800/alto k10.
That’s the saddest part of the Nano story. The public in general has spectacularly failed to appreciate this most stunning specimen of Indian design, ingenuity and engineering. The world said this project was impossible. 4 years on, nobody has come close to creating such a product for even twice the price(referring to the VW Up!). Its easy for…[Read more]

I see no issues with it.
@ Still spending a 50-80k more and buying an alto 800 or k10 is a good buy then to own a nano. Looks, mileage, ASS, Reliability, AC and seating is far more acceptable then nano. Any reason for slowdown in sales figure for nano and ya putting 50-80k will give you all round satisfaction for a budget buyers/owners than spending 4lkh on a sporty car…[Read more]
Well, if I am to buy a small car, I will buy the Nano. Over and out.
haa..gud one!!
