Even if Skoda was robbing customers in terms of price of their cars, they were still giving feature loaded cars. Without the features what’s left, after sales service? We all know how good that is. I think this repositioning is good only if Skoda manages to find a way to retain the features while reducing the price.

Punto, Linea and the Fluence, leaders in ride quality in a country known for bad roads, and yet the least selling in their respective segments. The irony of it!

Yes, in terms of purely ride quality, the Punto is better than the i20. Let’s put it this way, the Punto is the best hatchback in terms of ride quality today in India. The way it flattens bad patches with the least drama has to be experienced to be believed.

My requirements are : A diesel car, good for seating maximum of 5 people, good ride and handling quality, average monthly usage of about a 120 kms. I personally like the New fiesta…..but is it a good choice?

Your monthly run is just 120 km n you are wanting a diesel car!!!! Its just of bucks.. better choose petrol car.. For your requriments I suggest you the Honda city.. Its best in the class..

I bet Passat would be more comfortable since it is a sedan.
Don’t underestimate the Koleos. It is comfortable and retains its stability and ride-quality over bad roads much better than the Passat. It might be slower, but for Indian roads, the Koleos makes much more sense, unless you have to have a sedan and a VW.
@ Siddhartha no no I absolutely agree with you; the Koleos has been in the headlines for being the most comfortable SUV out there but I have a feeling that when compared to a premium luxury sedan like the Passat, it probably comes up a little short.
My only point was that a sedan like the Passat will always be faster and more comfortable than a heavy SUV with similar power. But once the perfect smooth highways end, the Koleos will retain good speed over bad roads and still keep you in relative comfort. Why do you think SUVs sell like hot cakes in India?
Yes, yes there is no denying that fact. For bad roads an SUV is the only answer.
As far as pure ride quality goes, the Koleos is light years ahead of the rest. We were floored by its perfect suspension setup when we tested it. But then, you pay through your nose for that. In terms of ride comfort, the Koleos and the Duster are excellent. Fortuner and XUV500 are pretty average. But if you want interior space and comfort, then the Fortuner is the best mix of the lot, followed by the XUV500.
Duster is no where comparable to the rest of the three.
happy to receive the best from u all, right now im using scorpio hawk, i have comfortably oevrcome for about 65000km in 16months, now im moving a head wid more comfortable car than scorpio, so my choice was fortuner,but im confused wid xuv500 as its same wid scorpio hope so..
XUV is better than the Scorpio in terms of ride and comfort and the Fortuner is better still. But the Duster and the Koleos are in a different league all together.

Duster’s cabin is not that great. Plastics are average and the car does not feel expensive inside. XUV is all about show off, but fantastic value nonetheless. Fortuner is a more complete vehicle, thoroughly engineered inside out. Ideal upgrade for a Scorpio user. Buy the automatic and give your left arm and leg a well deserved vacation.

Just flashed my mind, if comfort is what you are looking for, do take a test drive of the Skoda Yeti as well. It is almost as good as the Koleos in that department, much better than the Fortuner. Quanto is a city vehicle not for the highway. good efficiency but has same flaws (suspension) as the xylo. very bad interiors. Better to get an XUV500 than Quanto
