@Harleen Singh Rawal, as you have mentioned that you are planning to keep the vehicle for 8 – 10 years, then it must be a Maruti because, service and maintenance costs should be given more importance. Hence, better to go for Ertiga because Maruti is known for low maintenance and service costs.

The other thing that should affect your decision is easy access to service network and availability of spares. Nissan is still in the process of expanding its service network, whereas Maruti has a well-established network. Also since the Ertiga diesel shares plenty of its components with the SX4, service should be easier. As far as utility is…[Read more]

Total Stupid comparo. Serch for some other ways to Advertise Ertiga. Sedan is always Sedan cant compare it with LUV. Sunny Diesel is mre VFM then Ertiga. If you want to travel with 7 people on board Ertiga is not a choice because there is almost null legroom for last row passenger if middle row is occupied and if there are 7 people onboard then…[Read more]

Jignesh, in India people go by budget first – and Sunny and Ertiga have overlapping prices. Tomorrow, if there is a SUV in the same price range, people would ask us questions about ertiga vs that SUV vs Sunny too. In fact, we do these stories because people actually think like that. Car enthusiasts do not think on those lines – they would always…[Read more]

The Vento looks solid and performs better than the Sunny while the latter comes with more features at substantially lesser price than the Vento. Both the cars target family saloon buyers which are often chauffer driven. Therefore, performance and handling may be a second preference as against space, comfort and features. On that count, we pick the…[Read more]

the vento definitely drives better and feels more solid than the sunny. the leg space in the sunny is unmatched but its cramped if 3 ppl have to sit on the back seat. in this respect the vento fares better. sunny has the push button start though i dont know what happens if it conks off as i could not see a regular key with the car. the vento has…[Read more]

It looks like you’re in any case more inclined to the Vento. In which case, go with what your mind tells you. The Vento is a good car overall, but will be more expensive initially. And if you’re going to be driving it yourself, the Vento diesel is probably better.

If after-sales and cost of spares is a big concern, you’re quite OK with a Maruti SX4 diesel. However, among the three cars you’ve picked I think the Sunny diesel is the best of the lot, looking at maintenance cost and comfort, while engine performance and mileage too are decent. However, Nissan is still in the process of expanding its service…[Read more]

Spares-wise, SX4 diesel is a clear winner here. Sunny diesel is a very value for money diesel car – but it is too new, and we don’t know spare parts issues or costs yet. Complete reliability and hassle free life, Honda City petrol AT wins – spares are costlier than SX4 etc, but nothing goes wrong with Hondas :)

Sunny diesel, if space is important to you. It is extremely spacious. Otherwise, rapid and vento are the same car – but Rapid has more variants and you can pick one which is closest to your budget. There is absolutely no problem with Vento at all. Skoda service is also much better than before nowadays. Nissan is too new, so can’t say for sure…[Read more]

Hi, Sunny is too new for us to asy anything about the long term maintenance of the car :( We need to see it at least for a year to figure out what kind of issues occur (if anything occurs). Buying any totally new car is a bit of a gamble! Recently we had a poll on our Facebook page about Skoda cars, and most Skoda owners said they faced no issues.

I am in the same dilema……need to chose between Sunny XV Diesel & Vento Diesel Highline. I am more inclined to vento because of drive and interiors……but vento has unmatched leg space. Rapid is out because skoda service is really bad & extremely expensive. facing a lot of issues with my Laura service.

Skoda Rapid is actually the VW Vento in a different shape. Sunny is very new, and even the verna is relatively new. Maintenance costs are very difficult to estimate within one year of launch. There is no big difference in mileage between the cars either.

The Sunny and the Verna have almost similar claimed fuel economy of over 22 kmpl. In city conditions, we expect the Verna to be slightly more frugal. In terms of service accessibility, Hyundai service centers have better reach, so maintaining a Hyundai car should be easier.

Nissan Sunny petrol and Micra to get costlier January 2012 onward

Nissan India will likely hike the price of all Micra variants and the Sunny petrol variant by three per cent with effect from January 2012. CarToq spoke to a Nissan dealer who confirmed the imminent price hike. The company recently launched the Sunny diesel and hence it will be exempted from this price hike.

Nissan Sunny diesel vs. Skoda Rapid diesel!

The two newly launched sedans the Skoda Rapid diesel and the Nissan Sunny diesel have widened the under Rs. 10 lakh diesel sedans lineup in India. The Rapid is a rebadged Volkswagen Vento and shares the same engines but priced is slightly lower than the Vento. The Sunny is built on the versatile V-platform on which the Nissan Micra is built. While the Rapid boasts the European solidity, the Sunny

Linea with lil discounts on diesel is an attractive option, rides well too.. verna is too much feature loaded and is an excellent vfm but loses some ground on ride quality.. sunny is for calm drivers, it handles well but lacks sporty feel, and about rapid, its better to shell out 25000 more for vento.. If I’ve to choose one, I’d lock between verna…[Read more]

Ride quality is actually quite subjective – it is different in the city and the highway, on good roads and bad roads, at moderate speeds and when driving fast… on straight roads or on mountain curves. Where exactly will you be driving the car? Verna is quite plush and nice on uneven roads at slow speeds, not so good at curves… Rapid is stiffer…[Read more]

@gaurav: buddy, for ride + handling quality &for value for ur money go with Linea. Its gud compared to others. But it has low ground clearance.
Rapid is also a gud choice. Only it vl b expensive to maintain.
Verna is a feature rich car. But its also a bit low grounded &its handling is not so gud as 1 expect.
        Test drive al d cars.

For ride quality, go 4 skoda or fiat. New linea coming on 3rd jan will get better interiors and ground clearence. Fiat service cost is as low as maruti but quality depends on dealer. Same with skoda but costs are higher.
