Looks – Both have a design based on Hyudai’s fluidic design philosophy. Mileage – I20 uses a smaller engine and is lighter, hence it will have a better fuel efficiency in similar conditions. Maintenance – A bigger car will always have more maintenance, especially since they are from the same manufacturer. Space – The sedan will have more space.…[Read more]

If budget is not a problem, go for Verna. You get a bit more space inside than the i20, and the same mileage.

Comparing top-end models to each other, I would suggest you buy the Verna. A sedan is always more comfortable and more stable and fun to drive. The only issue could be that the i20 would have a little more ground clearance and little more fuel efficiency in real-world conditions. For everything else, it should be the Verna.

U want safety then go with verna is best, But dear if u want safety + Mileage + VFM then try Fiat PUNTO & LINEA, Bcoz Punto & Linea’s body is very very strong comparison to other Hatchback & sedan class. The power steering on the Punto and on the Linea is hydraulic. I think apart from the price differential the other main point is the ground clearence. The Figo definitely needs more. Punto has dollops of it.

Why do these auto magazines and websites, spread false information about fiat car????? Is it because the Manufacturer doesn’t pay them or what. Seriously I have this doubt for a very long time. For other cars, they praise a stupid feature like anything and for a fiat they criticize a superb feature or hide info about such a nice feature.

Companies like Fiat and Mitsubishi usually do not get their due recognition, despite making truly brilliant vehicles. As anyone who has ever driven or owned a car of these two will tell, you will not want to bay a car of any other make again. In any case, no amount of features can take place of a sorted out ride and handling balance.

These days hardly anyone drives without AC unless its peak winter or you are in the hills. The car was designed with the AC, so it’s best to look at mileage figures for normal driving with AC. Verna 1.6 diesel has a claimed mileage of 22 kmpl, and 1.4 23 kmpl. Real world conditions are more like 14-15 kmpl in city and 17-18 on the highway. Beat…[Read more]

I think the Verna is one of the rare few cars where the larger diesel engine turns out to be more fuel efficient in actual everyday driving. While the 1.4 suffers from lag, the 1.6 is a very tractable engine with smooth and linear power delivery. You do not need to gun the throttle every time you want a move on. This means that the actual figures…[Read more]

Hrishi: there is no EXACT mileage for any car. The ARAI figure is the best parameter. Let me add that highway FE is close to ARAI fugures while City FE is about 20% lesser. Also, please note that ARAI figures are WITHOUT AC. Lastly, a car with a bigger engine will see lesser difference in fuel efficiency with / without AC.

Looks like the i20 diesel will suit you the best. You havent mentioned enthusiastic driving as a key factor – so i20′s light steering should not be a problem for you. You get all the safety you want, and city mileage may be average but 6 gears means highway mileage will be nice. Beat diesel only if mileage is more important than everything else,…[Read more]

Hrishi, that’s a lot of questions, but we can refine it down for you. You’re looking at 120 km a day – which definitely means a diesel car. And you will be driving alone mostly (commute to work and back), in which case, I would suggest a diesel hatchback, and that would save you a fair amount of cash. Mileage is your top priority – so that way the…[Read more]

As an all-round option, I’d suggest the Ritz diesel, as it will be easy on maintenance and will fit well within your budget. It is also slightly more perky to drive than the Polo in the city, and you get better road visibility because it’s taller. Polo is great on styling and has much more luggage space and seating space.
