You are right the payback is long. Do give a close look to Chevy Beat, it is a good car for city commuting and has nice new age interiors. The price is also very competitive. Do calculate.
Buy Figo Diesel in the price range of Polo Petrol and trust me you will be more than happy. Figo is more spacious than Polo, no turbo lag in Figo diesel, good handling and good build quality. I won’t advise Polo since VW’s service cost is on upper end.
Going forward, with fuel prices closing up, the pay back period would be even longer. That said, a diesel car is inherently more fuel efficient than a petrol. I like Ishmeet’s suggestion of a Figo diesel at the price of a Polo petrol.
Daily 55 kms means 1400-1500 kms per month…(except long journeys) I thinks its really needed Diesel
Figo Diesel makes more sense to buy
in diesel you have option of swift, i20, punto, sail, vd90 almost at the same price bracket – best mjd fiat diesel engine is found in most which is better than polo diesel – so take your pick
Beat sure is competent enough. There have not been any changes to the GC of the Figo. Its just the same as it always was. So if you live in a place with plenty of large speed breakers, avoid.
The Figo Titanium would be a better value for money deal since the price difference is just Rs 23K. It has far more space for passengers and luggage. The ground clearance issue – was partly because of the rigid rear mudflaps. They have been changed in the new Figo to flexible ones. But the car still sinks low when fully loaded. It’s not a deal…[Read more]
Even i think Ford Figo is much better than Chevy Beat, Yes GC lowers a bit when fully loaded , but again its not a deal breaker!! As Roshun sir said, pros of car far outweigh the cons.
I agree with Roshun sir and Amitosh !! I myself have Figo for last 8 months and GC has never been a issue unless a irregular speedbreaker or too deep pothole come in you way in which every car will sink..Beat nowhere stands in front of Figo.
I had a similar dilemma last year and went for Figo. GC is not a deal breaker. I live in Pune and we have Speed breakers every 2.5 KM. (sometimes even less). The problem happened only once but the issue was with my tire pressure which was @ 15psi when recommended is 30-33.
The Figo is a better car. In almost every parameter except fuel efficiency.
Etios is great car to drive……you will never feel lack of power…you need not need to change lower gear…FE is less, but its fun to drive.
Etios petrol engine is good and unique technology in terms of shifting lesser gears even at lower speed on the other hand maruti dzire are champions in petrol engines (k-series), smooth , refined, powerful, FE and cheap to maintain.
If the Amaze seems light and tinny, the Dzire and the Etios are lighter and tinnier still. The Etios petrol has the best engine in the segment. This 1.5 is decently refined. It revs well and most importantly, pulls like a dream. This is the only engine that can hold a candle to Honda’s 1.2 iVTEC at that price point.
In my opinion, Etios has the poorest quality. Honda has its engine as a saving grace. Maruti for a change has a car with least cost cutting amongst the three. So Dzire feels premium, Honda feels practical and Toyota feels like it needs to be skipped. I would take the Dzire in these three options. If you are open to other options, Sail sedan & Ford…[Read more]
best explained my amit – out of all these i liked Sail the most – bcoz of the overall build, full size body, fair quality interiors – well it also has rear armrest as std on most models
so take a look on Sail Sedan too
I would suggest you to look at other options..
Ford Classic would be a good choice…because it has good overall quality, space and comfort is also decent..
It has good powerful engine too…
Take a TD of ford classic. ….
Hi, Figo comes with very soft plastic for bumpers so that small dents which may arise out of bikes, autos or in traffic can be avoided. That said, what you may be referring to as engine frame is probably a part of crumple zones which may be very close to the radiator. Kindly note that this area is supposed to take damage and reduce impact to…[Read more]
petrol or diesel ?
If petrol then swift n if diesel then liva..but personally im not fan of etios’s interior or exterior..i find the swift interiors to be more premium n its all in a flow, nothing popping out or going in.
Swift!!
The new Liva Sportivo is nice if you are looking for a car with some performance and space. But if you want just a car to run about the city – not really needing space for five, then the Swift would do.
Swift is better than Etios
Only Space then Liva…compromise on cabin and boot space then Swift…also swift metal/body sheet is of better quality than Liva…
The Quanto would suit your need for space here, but unfortunately in your budget you only get the base variant. Then, you would be better off looking at the Tata Vista D90 or you could also look at the Chevrolet Sail U-Va diesel LT – if you want space for five and slightly more power. The Sail sedan would go slightly over your budget. The Ford…[Read more]
7L on the road budget, Figo Titanium diesel is a clear winner in my opinion. For other hatchbacks, either they will be over budget in the top trim or they won’t be as good as Figo considering your needs. Mahindra’s Verito is having a launch of its sub 4 meter hatch today, do check out its top trim too. Regards.
many thanks to Roshun & Amit
Ford figo diesel is best among lot.
Ford figo diesel is the winner here..i myself have this car for last 6 month and have driven over 8500 Kms..no turbo lag, sits 5 comfortably..leg room is more than any hatchback and even 6 footers sit comfortably with plenty legroom still left..boot space is awesome…you will love this car
ritz is the answer
you should lookout for sail UVA its good car the ride and handling of the car is very good and it will fit in your buget
Your knees will foul with the Ritz’s dash as well. You should consider cars like the i20 or Vista or Liva or Brio. Sail is another option but you will find its footwell to be quite cramped.
I am 6 feet long and i can easily sit on Ritz, You can also try out Vista and Punto, both are superb too.
guess you sitting too ahead, pull it back ….. with such long legs sitting back should be more fun, ,,, it gives a more settled view,,,, well its my personal experience …. the manual suggests a vertical palm distance from dash,,, but try to sit with angled rinch look (10 mm ka angled panha ) ….
i am 6 feet tall and sit comfortably in my Figo diesel..infact my dad is also 6 feet tall and he sits comfortably behind me with plenty of legroom still left for him
trust me bro Figo is too spacious..dont buy i2o petrol bcz it will burn your pockets..instead go for Honda amaze petrol and you will get its 3 petrol variants within price range of…[Read more]
Honda Amaze is a good car..for space and mileage
if comfort is what u r looking for….RITZ bro….jus try ( test drive) for once and u will know…..
figo petrol underpowered, but with catchy interiors ,,,, sail uva is winner here ,,,,
No no , definitely no to Petrol Figo, Go for Sail UVA and you can also try out Ritz Vxi.
Ford figo…. Low ground clearance and low mileage too…
The first choice has to be the Honda Brio, unless of course boot space is a major priority.
If u want car for four Brio will suit u the best
you should go for sail UVA its very good car than figo
chose maruti for petrol engines..chose Figo for diesel…Sail is no no in any case.
Its the Mid variant – Skoda Rapid Ambition….. its really a good sedan with decent features,,mileage and great looks!!! and is cheaper than the vento…..
Its better thn vento
better in every aspect. decent looking rich feeling car
go for ambition (optional pack).
Thanks guys, I think i will go for skoda elegance.
@ Krishna..good choice..brilliant sedan to own. you will love driving it..but go for diesel one not the petrol one. Diesel turbo boost is amazing in rapid.
Thanks guys. I booked elegence in Rapid after i test drove it. I liked it a lot. It had lot of power. I will be having it by friday- 1st feb.
Manoj, Ford Fiesta is the way to go. Verna’s handling is not too great the back tyres have a mind of their own. It is not even stable at 80kmph. Even though the equipment list is exhaustive in Verna I would suggest you to decide against it.
May I also suggest Skoda Rapid to you. It is the best car of the segment as far as diesels are concerned.
By the Fiesta do you mean the Fiesta Classic?
Fiesta is the loud answer, if you ask or drive on your own and not on what is there is market.
thanks guys! @devdath i mean the new fiesta kinetic
The new fiesta is a great handling car @Sai, and is a far better car than the Verna. The pricing takes it down.
verna is poor in terms of handling and new ford fiesta is great but higher price takes it down. instead consider honda city if looking for petrol car. else skoda rapid is also a good option.
after all these inputs its fiesta we just loved the way it drove man what a car! thank you guys
