Punto first i was shocked to c Brio as I though where’s my Punto?? Then I scrolled down in Premium Hatchs to c my super hatch… Nice article… I must say good ride quality is very important in a car for a comfortable ride
i dno how they can qualify a car like MANZA for ride quality.!!! it has a very bouncy ride for speeds above 80..
Punto, Linea and the Fluence, leaders in ride quality in a country known for bad roads, and yet the least selling in their respective segments. The irony of it!
But Experts what about I20? Is punto better than i20?
Yes, in terms of purely ride quality, the Punto is better than the i20. Let’s put it this way, the Punto is the best hatchback in terms of ride quality today in India. The way it flattens bad patches with the least drama has to be experienced to be believed.
punto d best
Superb article. Nice to see good cars @ good position.
i20 d best
HUNDAI NEEDS FEW MORE YEARS TO IMPROVE RIDE QUALITY OF THEIER ENGINE…THEY ARE NEVER ON TECHNOLOGY…JUST LOOKS AND FEATURES HELPING THEM TO SELL TH CARS…I M ALSO SURPRIZED TO SEE NUMBERS OF CARS ARE IN MARKET(I20) PITTY IN BUYERS…THEY DONT KNOW TECHNOLOGY….AND THAT WHY THEY BUY…:)
I agree with HONDA CITY, but Hundai VERNA is not deserving second position. Its worst in perfomance, Ineriors and design is gr88 but handling is pathetic. Injustice with Linea FIAT its gr88 car compare to Hundai verna. Linea is best diesel. Dont know CARTOQ what scale and wht experience they have not considered LINEA.
@ Anand, FIAT didn’t pay CarToq. Giving a score of &/10 for handling shows these guys have never driven a Fiat Linea
@ Anand, FIAT didn’t pay CarToq. Giving a score of 7/10 for handling shows these guys have never driven a Fiat Linea. The only department where LINEA fails is the sales. Otherwise the car is the Best Sedan for handling, Ride Comfort and features. Stupid CarToq
You are correct guys these people have never driven Fiat else they never make this silly rating. First of all Verna has power atleast on paper which never comes while driving worst handling car I test drive it. City is very good but not best at higher speed. Nissan Sunny is not elidgible for this test dont know about Scala because never driven it…[Read more]
“The clutch is slightly heavy and the car does tend to wallow through corners.” are you guys kidding Linea has light clutch and stupir people its is best car in corners check all the reviews.
@Jignesh: We understand your love for all things FIAT (being a Fiat owner for 5 years I can understand your passion) but a lot of CarToq members have driven Fiats. One of the editors also drives a Linea as one of his daily drives. The Linea has got 8/10 on handling which is still the best except the Fiesta (which really does handle very well). The…[Read more]
And what about the clutch issue that you have mentioned.
@anand and @jignesh: First of all please excuse me for i found your comments so funny that i just wasn’t able to stop myself from making an account here and post a reply. Well guys, this is a rating for sedans from class of people who personally use every brand and make and then post these comments. Rating is not done on fan basis. I agree Fiat…[Read more]
I have used both the cars. Coming from a big joint family, i have access to Hyundai Verna, Honda City, Maruti Suzuki Swift Dezire, Fiat Linea and Ford Fiesta. So it’s like that i have access to almost all the top notch mid-size sedans. Hyundai Verna is best in Power and i just love the throttle it delivers. Also i never found any issue with…[Read more]
Not going into discussion but Sunny is best City car. Some cars mentioned in the list i pity them….
certainly the city is the best car in the petrol segment on the above cars. diesel fiesta and rapid
@Vishu you are a blind person person who had never driven a good cars so please dont comment on the thing you have never driven. You like Verna good every one knows how bad fluidic cars on handling So Fiat riders dont need advice from cheap korean lover so carry on your love all know MJD are way ahead then CRDi of Hyundai and Fiat is better brand…[Read more]
@Vishu and even cartoq agree on bad handling charateristics of Verna. So never mind. Dont get to personal. Please check all the reviews about both cars and then came back with comment
guys be in control..
@vISHU WE ARE ALSO FROM GOOD FAMILY DEAR…HAVING ALL CARS FROM DIFFERENT BRANDS…CERTAINLY GIVES THE EXAMPLE THAT U EVEN NOT YET ABLE TO CHAOOSE GOOD CAR THATS WHY ALL BRNDS U POSSES…ITS NOT ABOUT OWING A BRAND ADVOCATING THAT PERTICULAR CAR…ITS ABUT THE TRUTH AND TRUTH IS HUNDAI VERNA IS GARBAGE…KOREANS CAN COPY CANT INSPIRE…AND…[Read more]

Verna is really crap to drive at high speed u see tail bounces of like u r drifting uncontrolabbly and steering shud not be tht much light tht it feel like u r driving in a game!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Always Recommendable Innova G4 But you will have to incress on Cost…
you must consider buying a new vehicle, it benifits you with company warranty, service, etc…your budjet is not so high for xuv and innova… you can opt for mahindra XYLO,,, its a great MUV with lots of featore and space… its a great comfortable car…
Within your budget of Rs. 8 lakh, you will get a used Innova mid-variant that’s about three-years old. You won’t get an XUV500 at this price right now as the vehicle is too new and has very high demand. The Mahindra Xylo is the other vehicle that you can buy outright, although you’ll get only the base variant D2 at this price. But this should suit…[Read more]
You can go with XYLO its a very good MPV in this segment.
I would suggest used Innova over a new Xylo, frankly. Innova is a robust vehicle that will keep you happy for a long time. Try to get a personal vehicle, and not one which was used as a taxi and you are set!
Used innova. Toyota’s reliability, comfortable than most of the luxurious SUV’s. Seats 7 people comfortably, doesn’t need much maintenance, good service back up. Go for used Innova over any other vehicle. Before buying used innova please thoroughly check the car and take mechanic with you, and make sure that the car is not being used as private Taxi car.
BUY FORCE ONE Massive . . . . . .
I d go for the Verito simply because it has more space, equal fuel efficiency and reliability and higher driving pleasure.
Go for Verito, better space, reliable, fuel efficiency, boot and you’ll get a sedan.. New Verito looks far better than the old one and it will take you into the league of Swift Dzire.. So, Verito will be a better choice..
Verito is more better option in terms of space and milage… it looks cool too… also, you dont have to wait months and months like that of maruti……
Newly launched Verito is very good car. Actually you can own a sedan rather then hatch.
BOTH THE CARS WHICH I MENTION COMES WITH SAME ON ROAD PRICE. WHAT ABT MAHINDRA AFTER SALES SERVICE AND MAINTANENCE COST?
For peace of mind I would still go with Ritz (I have heard a few stories of M&M service), but then the Verito is far more value for money.
believe me when it comes to value of money, nothing can beat a maruti. For example Every single mechanic is an expert per se, when it comes to maruti .
As a proud owner of a ZDi, I can tell you that although you will lose on space (rear space and boot space), actually there is nothing else to complain about in this car.
With respect to your query, Swift has superior performance, handling, fairly acceptable ride, modern chassis / platform, extremely high resale value, excellent service support…[Read more]
Friends, my apologies… I was under impression that we are talking about Swift ZDi but now I realize that it is Ritz ZDi. Well, my answer still remains same… Ritz over Verito.
Service of M&M depends upon the dealer…. i m owner of Logan from last 5 years….i m happy with the car & i m getting best kind of service from the dealer in Surat….
verna is more better option… it has got great looks, great features, great space, everything… vento has got some recent features addition, but than also hyundai will be a good option…
Despite the addition of new features in the Vento recently like parking sensors, reverse camera, steering audio controls and a standalone GPS device – the Verna still has more features and more power. However, in ride and handling the Vento is better.
If gizmos is your topmost priority, then the Verna is fine, but for build quality and riding dynamics the Vento is better. and the Highline model does come with quite a few goodies. After the price cut and feature additions, it makes for a sweet deal.
If you love to drive, go for the Vento, if you drive to drive, go for the Verna. Simple.
Vento driving dynamics Vento is better and recently launched new highline model have many new features with slashed price. So vento will be a good deal.
Verna – any day.. just take a test drive and you will know the difference… Verna is literally fluid. although Vento is a german brand which promises quality, but the maintenance will take you over. Also vento has some residual cabin noise, which is unacceptable.
For a city runabout, the Beat does the job pretty well and its 3 yr package makes it virtually free to own, however, the the Ritz is a slightly bigger and refined car due to its 4 cylinder engine. Take a test drive and let us know your thoughts.
Go for Ritz. Low maintenance cost, Fuel efficiency, good looks, and overall its a Maruti and you’ll get a good service backup. On the other side, Beat is 3 cylinder, though it also have good efficient engine, but when compared to Maruti, it lacks behind. Drive wise, Ritz is more comfortable and it propels faster than Beat. So, Ritz would be a better bet.
I think you can go for Beat because you can have 3 years package, Climate Control and other goodies which are not present in Ritz. The only issue is 3 cylinder engine but no one had complained about it because its performing very well. So you can go for Beat.
Ritz is unbeatable. ritz has ultimate pickup owing to its low bodyweight and swift k series engine. and it growls on the road . although beat offers a little more mileage than the ritz, i’d still suggest you go for ritz.
Beat for sure as it has 3 years warranty and fuel efficiency good
nothing much new except heated ovrms, rear music control…. no competition to cruze….
But the voting says.. otherwise…. i feel the diesel rocket will loose its steam… it will be elantra all the way
People who says it chalenge cruize i think they have no idea about what cruze actually is. yes Elantra can eat market share of Carolla Altis a good for nothing car at very vary high price. Elantra cant touch Laura either in terms of competition.
cruse s da clear winner……for me its no for elentra
HONDA CITY best in class …driving pleasure + power
LINEA T JET 2nd position
no linea is at first position
Definately T-Jet City has no chance at Top End Drive it to Believe it.
what about Hyundai Verna 1.6 MT???? ITs Fun To Drive Toooooo
HEHE HUNDAI AT THE END…ITS A BEAUTIFUL BOX OF FEATURES BUT TECHNOLOGY AND DRIVE COMFORT ZERO
T-JET NO DOUBT BEST POWER SUPPLY ENGINE BUT STILL OVER ALL PERFOMANCE ITS SCOND AND HONDA IS WORLD LEADER IN PETROL FOLLOWED BY TOYOTA, FIAT HAS GR88 REPUTATION IN DIESEL ENGINES>>>PETROL ENGINE STILL NEED TO MAKE SPACE
Turbo Charged Petrol is the word. I think you have to test drive it once Bro. i-vtec is beauty but because of tank like safety and all features that City plus many others. Dont forget City runs of 175 to 185 range tyres t-jet runs on 205 with 16 inch alloys so stability always better. I love City but once I drive T-Jet I fell in love with City.…[Read more]
Sorry last post I type I fell in love with City actually Its T-Jet. I am not able to modify the post so clarify here.
what about sx4? or lancer dey r also gud rides…
I agree with Anupam Potdar. The fun you drive while driving a fiesta is unbeatable. The handling ,the low end torque, the pickup is very thrilling and a great driving experience.
when we are talking about the fun factor i guess u have to take out the japanese nd also korean cars…they are known for good engines….but luxury doesnt seem to be their forte………..for cars with elegance nd niche europeans take the cake…..followed by american car makers……..in this case…..linea wins all hand down……superb ride…[Read more]
more sedans like vento…sx4 should have been added in this discussion….
Honda City is the way to go!! The way the engine responsively surges ahead, and the razor sharp handling, the engine feeling pleased as it approaches the red-line.. There’s no match to it.. I have added 190 Yokohama rubber, and its improved further on the ride front.
I LOVE BOTH I-VTEC AND T-JET TECHNOLOGY, THEY REALLY IMPROVED THE POWER PICKUP OF BOTH CITY AND LINEA. BUT STILL TRUST REMAIN WITH I-VTEC TECHNOLOGY AS ITS DEVELOPED BY TOYOTA AND HONDA TOGETHER THE TRUSTED LEADERS IN PETROL ENGINE. T-JECT ENGINE IS MUCH POWERFUL IN COMPARE BUT ITS A DEBATE ABOUT OVERALL CAR HANDLING AND RIDE…
When comes to overall car handling and ride no one matches Linea because of superb HPS and wider tyres and aerodynamics.
good compilation,everything is crystal clear
i20 my baby
where is vw?
Punto is the one!
VW POLO is the most coastliest and less on features car… dont go on brand. PUNTO is the best
Punto is best
What is automatic climate Control?? Kindly Explain…
Punto hands down
Swift Dzire is a good bet at 8 lakhs with ABS Airbags standard and smells good value for me except for the rear seat comfort. If you dont mind Manza is also good:)
Tata MANZA Elan……my choice…..safe n spacy……….gud 4 a small family.
What about Mitsubishi Lancer.. It drives so well, you basically don’t need safety features.. Right..
indigo manza is best than remaing.
z fa z safty z cncrnd..toyota z n obvs choice…
Fiat linea ofcourse.
fiat linea offcourse.
Toyota Etios V got everything with an on road price of 6.75 lakh Dual Airbags, ABS, Integrated music system, Alloy wheels, Fog Lamps a better choice I’ll say.
ow yes, handles better to like slipping a hot knife through a block of butter
Honda City Is Best…. Its Awsum Yaar.
well I think 1 sld go for Honda city or for Sx4 and even Linea is a good option onlly the prob with Linea is a very poor Ass…..i don’t like etios at all…..nor dezire whcih are very common cars manza is a avery spacious vehciles after all its a TATA ans same prob ASS of TATA is not also good……..i think Honda city and SX4 r god open options…[Read more]
Here Tata manza wins … becoz SX4 , City n Linea all are starting 7.7 n above wit basic model , and all basic model are really useless.. so go for fully loaded Tata Manza..
first look at it your Budgets………………..
NISSAN SUNNY OR TATA MANZA…THEY R COMFORTABLE N ALSO GRT LOOKING CARS….
If the question is ” Safest”, then It should be Linea.. Good build quality.
vento also we have 2 consider under this segment…
sx4 is best.
I like fiat linea.
i like linea 2012
only linea 2012
Linea 2012 has airbags and ABS in Dynamic model too and i own one too:-) it’s handling ,body built makes its a good highway sedan.cheers FIAT.
hey guys dont you think as the technology is giving us ways for safety, but as it is increasing, the ratio of accident is also increasing proportionately? if u study the accidents’ statistics then we will come to know that ABS, EBD, etc. is not stopping the accidents to happen. infact if driver drives the car properly then no need of ABS, EBD,…[Read more]
it is great that we have such a technology for safety but just dont take disadvantage of it or it will ruin your life
City or Linea, both are best among all crap steel machines. City has. status and Linea has good and different looks. So end of the Discussion :/
A Dzire vs. Linea? Excuse me? :/
Linea 2012 is best with all safety features and tank like build quality. please dont compare it with DZire.
