Please always buy a car which is still in production.. Will be easy on service and spares..
Is he buying a used car, because the Optra is no longer in production. Also I agree with Sabha – spares and maintenance would be an issue. He could look at an SX4 petrol and convert to CNG if he wants a mid-size sedan.
yes he is buying a used car and sx4 is little over budget for him
Optra,Heavy maintainence Low fuel efficiency, costly spares moreover out of production now…Better to opt for Baleno over optra..very reliable and maruti service is better than GM.
Yes, its a very common mod here in the NCR.
and my one more question is that will i get an mhawk engine in scorpio 2007-2008 model ? thanks in advance experts help will be appreciated
A old 2.6CRDE was a very tough and reliable engine. 100% tension free, provided it has been serviced regularly. The MHawk was launched somewhere in 2009, I guess. But that engine is not as tough as the CRDe, and requires basic care regularly.
The old 2.6 CRDe is a fantastic engine. tough, reliable and powerful. However stay away from the first batches of the CRDe engines [i think it was launched in 2005] because it went thru a lot of changes and upgrades after that.
4 lacs seems a decent price for a 07-08 model…. however as with any scorpio, make sure to check on the history of the…[Read more]
This really looks a fantastic deal to me! It is one of the best hatchback around and if found in top condition being quoted for 3.5L with just 35K KMs on odometer – I think he should go ahead with that.
The price sounds good, but check the car thoroughly, paying careful attention to the engine. It should sound healthy and shouldn’t be smokey. Check the clutch as well and get a full service history of the car to see what all maintenance it has been through – if maintained properly this sounds like a good deal.
I think you might be able to bring the price down a bit…Fiat’s definitely depreciates more than 50%.
Please ensure that the vehicle is accident free and has complete service history, the price is a bit too tempting especially from a dealer, from an individual it would have been fine. Also ensure if a service is just around the corner. Fiat recommends changing all fluids and filters every 24 months which will bill him ~8 to 10k. The battery ~5k,…[Read more]
thanx alot amit i was waiting for your comment…actually the car is with carnation.

You can never be too careful while buying a second hand car. The deal does seem good just ensure you check the cars’ condition and service history closely. Take a look at this story it should help you figure out how to go about the whole process: http://www.cartoq.com/how-to-buy-a-second-hand-car/
The Fabia is a good well-built car, but Skoda’s service is something that has got mixed reviews. It depends on where he’s going to be servicing the car – as some service stations are good, while others are not. Regular maintenance is not that expensive for the car as it has a long (15,000 km) service interval – and runs on synthetic oil. Each…[Read more]
The car is otherwise a very nice car to have and regular service is not that expensive. It’s only that parts are fairly expensive.
there are many hatchbacks in this range i think the new swift zxi will fullfill each & every need of you as the car is fuel efficient, great service network, low cost of spares and the list goes on …you should opt for petrol car as your daily running is not more then 20-25 km
you can also look for maruti ritz, hyundai i10,fiat punto , hyundai i20 &…[Read more]
As this is your first car and you are budget conscious, please keep in mind 2 things – the bigger the car the more the service & spares might cost you. You also need good service network so keep the brands between Maruti or Hyundai. So my recommendation is either Hyundai i10 (top end petrol), the Suzuki Swift (mid range) or the Hyundai i20 (Magna…[Read more]
Go for Swift ZXi. Its a very good and fuel efficient too.
yes i wud suggest MS Swift VVT ZXi…. it is one f d best selling petrol hatchback in its segment.. Also d car offers gud level f perfrmance, comforts, mileage, looks n marutis reliability n A.S.S..
I would ask you to consider the Ritz Zxi or the Brio AT. Looks are subjective hence that is something you alone can decide. Both have good space, are comfortable, good performing cars with good after sales. If you would like an AT, it should be the Brio otherwise the Ritz has better ingress / egress for the rear bench and a better boot, also a…[Read more]
maruti suzuki ritz full fills each & every need of you and it is an very good car with good fuel economy & low maintenance with an huge service network.
The Ritz is a good choice, but you won’t get a top-end variant at this price. If you want safety kit within this budget, look at the Wagon-R VXI with the safety option pack.
Strictly under 5L, look no furthur than the WagonR. If you want better performance, consider the i10 1.2Magna as well.
Ritz would be the first choice and i10 second
The New WagonR would be the ideal choice.its spacious, nimble in the city,is updated to modern looks and is backed by maruti trust,The engine is a gem and it has good resale value as well.you can get the ABS version for the 5lkh budget.Regards…
Go fro Hyundai i10 or Wagon r!!!
