normal squeaking may be due to rust ,………….. check your disk oil level, check your disk pads, check if the rotor disk is thick enough, if abrasions get them removed by a lathe machine (by removing rotor)…..check for any loosen nut bolts…… just give your vehicle for check up….. cheers
Must some particle stuck to the brake pad. Did you go offroad or through some slush recently? Get your brake pads cleaned and refitted. That should take care of it.
If it makes a grinding / groaning sound on hard braking / sudden brakes, don’t worry about it. ABS equipped brakes tend to make this noise on hard braking.
Swift..go for it!!
The Swift has better handling though the Liva is fun to drive too, Liva is surprisingly comfortable on bad roads though.
You are correct to mention that engine mounts have been changed in the Liva. But still the Swift handles way better and will get my vote for a better suspension setup between the two. Regards.
swift.
better handling and suspension swift.. (though old swift outscores new swift in that regards). but for comfort drive liva.. its a nice package of both handing and ride.
Swift..a better choice
@ Anshuman..go with the experts recommendation..
i will prefer you for swift because it a nice turning ratius nice suspension and a comfortable ride.
That is good to hear Karthik. Will be expecting long-term owner feedback from you on the Rexton
Which version is it? The RX5 or RX7?
Congrats!!!
You shall have a very unique perspective Karthik, an XUV owner upgraded to a Rexton.
Question: How would you compare the ride quality of both?
Rx5 . in xuv i used to feel a bit uncomfortable in rough terrain, but in rexton i just feel awesome.
Mahindra LX 4WD with an ex showroom price below Rs 10 lakh in Delhi, I believe this is the most VFM. It doesn’t have as many features as the VLX model, but well, you get 4WD and the rest you can add on bit by bit aftermarket! If you go one level up, you have the XUV500 AWD which offers huge amount of features. Let us see what the offroading…[Read more]
I second Mathew’s opinion on the Scorpio LX 4WD being the most value-for-money 4×4 in India. Of course, for hardcore off-road duties mainly, the Thar is a better option, but the Scorpio is the best of both worlds. Higher up the value chain, there is the Safari Storme and if Rs. 20 lakh plus is your playground, then the Pajero Sport and Toyota…[Read more]
you can go with tata safari strome or vuv if u want serious off-roading go for strome if u want comfort and not really that good off roading then go with xuv
sure you can remove them.
Yes, the Ertiga has removable headrests in the second row and third row of seats. You can see them in the photos in our road test: http://www.cartoq.com/expertvoice/maruti-ertiga-road-test-and-review-flexible-and-practical/ or even in the video: http://www.cartoq.com/expertvoice/maruti-suzuki-ertiga-video-review/
The cons about the Quanto are more important for me, bad handling…too much body roll and well…ugly. The Ertiga on the other hand scores better in terms of being a more complete MUV.
Ertiga scores better over Quanto..have driven Ertiga and it offers good comfort and is stable on road and no body roll..Quanto on other side is a Box on 4 wheels..though its build i mean sheet metal is strong but is totally out of shape…take test drives of both and take a call..
Ertiga has the edge.. it has better engine( Proven one ) atleast looks decent and ok as compared to Quanto IMHO…more worthy on road..
ertiga.quantos third row is more like a cage.ertiga for handling.ertiga for maintainance.
Ertiga Ertiga Ertiga!
If you want to seat someone about 5feet8 on a 5-6 hour drive then the direct answer is no, especially with similar sized people in the middle row. That would be expecting too much from the car; its barely as long as an SX4 after all. For that, you need the Xylo. Bit smaller people can manage by sliding the middle row into a suitable compromise…[Read more]
Shreyans is right. Think about Ertiga as a car for 5 adults plus 2 kids. You get space in the rear seats only if you move middle seats forward. But thats not comfortable for 7 people on long drives.
There is not enough space in third row of xuv500 also.
Not really, but if you consider the overall packaging of the Ertiga, the maximum amount of space that could have been carved out has been made by Maruti Suzuki. If you have 4-5 members in your family and need the last row of seats only occasionally, then the Ertiga makes a lot of sense.
3RD RW SPACE IF U DEMAND IT U GET SOME ELSE B HAPPY WTH 2ND ROW
there is enough space for children in third row. adults cannot sit in third row for a long time. but if u fold second row u will have enough space
wow! Fast work there Ajay! Congrats! Upload some photos of your Ertiga in http://www.facebook.com/cartoq and http://www.facebook.com/dwsauto

congratulations ajay. and i assure you its best car under 10 lakhs
Yes Santosh the Ertiga is definitely a better choice than the Dzire and you are right when you say that the Ertiga will give you all the benefits that the Dzire would, in fact it’ll give you more! The Ecosport is going to be a five seater so if you are looking for a 7-seater the Ertiga is a better choice!
what ertiga has got is flexible space. Use it as a five seater with lots of luggage space, or as a basic 7-seater. It drives like a swift. As reliable as all marutis are. But lets think again – you want to upgrade. And you are considerign Ecosport. It is a 5-seater SUV, and it will come out (probably) in petrol first and then in diesel. Ford cars…[Read more]
Thanks Rishabh for the advice, will book it this Sunday
Thanks Babychen…i forgot to mention i was looking at the diesel version, zdi to be precise..my bad…Ecosport was in consideration coz for its looks….dont know how the interior woukld look like or what the features are…saw the concept car and thought of taking a suggestion from u guys…..plus as u said diesel version will take time to…[Read more]
Between dzire and ertiga, the choice is pretty clear – if you can, you should choose Ertiga. Ertiga has not been in the market for even a month, so we don’t know actual waiting periods yet. EcoSport interior pics were released recently – quite stylish. http://www.cartoq.com/ford-ecosport-photo-gallery/ But Ertiga will have more space, yes.
go for ertiga..
What exactly are you looking for in the car? That would help narrow the choice down. If you are going to be using the rear seats a lot, and need a spacious car for 4 people or at the most 5 with good fuel economy, then the Sunny diesel is a good choice. However, if you want a car that is powerful, and great to drive, with a touch of class, the…[Read more]
I’m taking the Vento out of the equation for you as it stands nowhere in terms of space when compared to the Sunny and Ertiga. That said both the Ertiga and the Sunny are spacious and comfortable vehicles. Here the choice depends on whether you need the extra row of seats in the Ertiga. Also they are two separate segments and the Sunny looks more…[Read more]
Classiest is the Vento. Most spacious is the Ertiga as it can carry 7 people when needed. If you dont need a 7-seater, then choose between vento (classy) and Sunny (spacious). If you need the extra two seats, it is Ertiga definitely. The most value for money according to me is the ertiga.
The Petrol Ertiga has killer pricing! The diesel in comparison smacks of Maruti indulging in fatter margins. Plus, when you are considering the Vento, why not think about the Rapid? Near identical car (with slight improvements in the engine and suspension departments) at a lower price.
Well thanks everybody – my average drive is 80 kms and 80 % of the time i would be using front row only. Back seats would be using on weekends. As i stay in Delhi so parking is big problem. Ertiga is getting fitted to budget plus Maruti goodwill otherwise i do not have requirement of MPV. Yes Rapid is another choice but i heard the maintenance is…[Read more]
It is a fact that many car companies are making a killing in the name of service and maintenance at the expense of the customer. Leading the pack in no particular order are Skoda, VW and Mahindra. That being said, go ahead with the Sunny. Its a decent car for the city and very spacious too. Drivability and FE are excellent with minimal turbo lag.…[Read more]
ertiga will be the best choice because its best combination of space, mielage, features, handling and reliability..
Thanks Karthik , i hd bought Sunny D and clocked 14000 kms , extremely happy with my car. I preferred Sunny over Ertiga …
