You could go for HIDs (P8 is a good brand) for the low-beam lamp, while for the high-beam use Osram Nightbreaker halogens. HID is expensive – Rs. 9000 or so for the set. Osram Nightbreaker is about Rs. 1000 or so.
After market projectors can at times look tacky and if you don’t get it installed from a reliable electrician your wiring job can end up being shoddy. I’d say you for something like the Osram Night Breakers or the Philips Xtra Vision. I’m using the Philips bulbs on my Aveo with ceramic holders and a relay, its given me good throw and spread.…[Read more]
I think Night breaker is yellowish in colour. What abt the diamond vision is it good in high ways (high beam) . @Rishabh which philips blub are you using ??
I’m using Philips extra vision, quite effective, I’m happy with them
I haven’t personally used Night Breakers but @AbhikDas has and he claims they are quite awesome too! I used Diamond Vision bulbs on my Santro and I felt they were just a tad better than the regular bulbs, nothing great if you ask me!
Try Philips essential vision, the light throw is little bit like projectors. I fitted them in getz.
think the raing for essential vision is high H1 12425 EV 12V 85W , may require a relay…. I think stock 55w is fine for me any other suggestions?
Get a relay doesn’t hurt
depends on personal choice..looks vary frm people to people..i find the Xuv 500 better than the Duster in looks!!! and is more stylish
Renault Duster is an extremely good looking compact SUV. From the exterior it looks fabulous. The use of chrome is maximum in Duster as compared to XUV 500, which gives it a royal look. The SUV 500 on the other hand is bigger and looks more muscular than the Duster. On style Duster definitely looks better than the XUV 500
i wud prefer XUV 500 cz it gives d looks n perfrmnce of a SUV….
xuv has better looks
XUV 500 is better thn Duster
The RXL 85 option pack is a popular choice, followed by the 110 RXZ. If you aren’t going to be doing much highway runs, and only city mainly, pick the 85.
Only city drives then 85 PS does the trick for you.
Am having a 110 RXL in Bangalore city and am using if daily for commuting to office , the mid range power is awesome!!!and getting mileage of 14KM/l in Bangalore traffic . Even it has lag in 1 st and 2nd gears it will do the job in traffic just need to change the style of driving ….. RXL 110 and 85 RXL option packs having the same price and …[Read more]
I am using 110ps Rxz I am gettin 15kmpl in Hyd
If budget is the consent tan go for 85ps other wise 110 is the best option u can chose between Rxl option pack or Rxz
Trust me the lag won’t bother u once u get to know the drgiving style
If u need feel of a SUV, choose 100PS Or if you are looking for a replacement for a sedan and a strict budget, choose 85PS.
The Vento being a sedan has a different sort of image – and it also has more features such as automatic climate control on the top-end variant (which will be cheaper than the Duster top-end by Rs. 1.5 lakh). The Duster isn’t value for money as such, but it has good ride quality and a more rugged image to it – but it’s essentially based on the…[Read more]
Duster
i suggest that first u should clarify what type of vehicle u want an SUV or a sedan
duster
HI Maneesh there is no news of a facelifted Duster yet, even if such a facelift occurs it will be much later. It doesn’t make much sense waiting for it unless you want to wait for a long time as Nissan will launch their version of the Duster late next year.
wthat abt the above link??
Renault is not tampering with the looks of the Duster anytime soon, they are a big part of the vehicle’s success. Nissan’s upcoming badge engineered version of the Duster will look a bit different though, and the link may perhaps be an indication of what to expect with that.
The ICB story is a speculative one on how a facelifted Duster could look like, if Renault wants to facelift it. There is no facelift planned any time soon. The next Duster variant is likely to be the 4×4 one in March.
Maneesh, You can register it later however the date of manufacture is still going to be 2012. Now seriously this is a diesel car with relatively high resale value, a year may not make a huge difference especially since its very unlikely that you will be selling this car any time soon.
wht abt the 2% hike
price hike will be 1.5% for all renault vehicles….
I can see the confusion! Do you like the looks of the Duster? Really like it? I think you do! If you like its SUV looks, then yes, by all means go for it! Go for the 110 PS one if you find the price OK. Rapid and Vento are essentially the same car, both very practical choices. Duster is a bit of a decision that comes from the heart. Do you have to…[Read more]
See Duster 85ps RXL = 10.45L 85ps RXL option pack =11.75 which is same as 110ps RXL…. Rapid mid seg costs =10L . Theses are onroad price in kerala….I drove all the cars including both the duster variants 85 and 110.. In 85 there is no turbo lag(feels like petrol) but after 80 kms its dull .. 110ps there is a noticeable amount of turbo lag…[Read more]
Your understanding of the cars is correct. When it comes to a plush interior, yes Rapid and Vento are better. No doubt about it. About power too, what you are saying is right. In the 85 bhp one, you dont feel turbolag but it runs out of breath after some time, while the 110ps one is better once you cross 1800 rpm. So, like I said, if you go by…[Read more]
Maneesh, Rapid and vento are like the sunny and Scala. same platform, different tuning and different styling. as for the Duster. i am not gonna be shy in saying this. But that car stole my heart when i saw it . as for the power. i Drove both the 85 / 110 ps Diesel . And i second when you say there is a considerable Turbo Lag on the 110 PS diesel.…[Read more]
If you are looking for a ultimate driver’s car in the price range of 10 to 12lakhs, then you should be considering the New Fiesta.
the duster is a great choice for kerala roads.if you are not doing a lot of highway driving.i suggest stick with the 85ps as it is more easy to drive in traffic due to the lesser turbo lag.as you know the kerala govt is implanting speed sensing cams in our highways for ticketing speeds above 70kmph,so it may not be a good idea to spend 11+lakhs…[Read more]
Thank you guys . But if am getting the 110ps Rxl in the price of 85 ps Rxl option pack 11.76 on road . which is good ? . Actually I works in Bangalore …
then you will be driving to kerala-bangalore in highways.so go for the 110ps.stick to the 85ps if you dont do much highway run only.
Vista..
In accordance to your parameters, I feel Vista is a better choice though resale value is not that great though but on par with Figo.
Figo has more resale value than Vista but this depends on the condition and features too. Both have good mileage. Vista’s performance is much better than the Figo. Maintenance almost equal. Still, Figo makes more sense as it a better hatch for family purposes. Also, Figo’s facelift is on its way, you should wait for that.
Just Ready Your Cash & Go For Figo Diesel& You Will be Happy Forever……:)
I thik Vista will be good . TATA had changed a lot there days in tech .If you drive the old Indica and the new one you will feel the difference.Only thing bad abt them is theu stll stick on to the INdica Design. service will be better for TATA
Vista Vs Ford Classic without a Boot, Figo is a lot better car to be see in, to drive and to own.
It will increase the BHP and torque for sure but how much is the question !!!! ,,,, I found this in web for polo 1.2L http://www.chipmydiesel.com/ProductDetails.php?ProductID=1679&EngineSize=1.2
