i think you should better get your to the service station and complain about the issue.Being a new car it should not make such noise.Get the vipers replaced.
Wipers go bad pretty fast in places with high temperatures. I hope it already has not got ruined in Chennai heat earlier.. all you need is the edges to melt a fraction of a millimeter and the sound would start…
First light issue now wiper ?? Yeh Ertiga hai bhai dekho aage aur kya dikhati hai…
@Anupam But I am very happy with my Ertiga. Some minor niggles are there in all the cars.
sabha do you use a glass cleaner, if yes mention it as some detergents effect glass and removes smoothness , secondly if not than closely inspect wiper blades and look for any un evenness of the rubbers if even it is good than visit service center and complain and see what they have to say on replacing wiper blades .
Sabha just joking.. My first three cars were from Maruti only but when i drove Accent then i came to know the quality of other brand and now Nissan . There are other brands which are offering much better cars… I am ex termly satisfied customer for Nissan Sunny. By the way what millage you are getting for Ertiga?
@Anupam I have been driving only in city. and i have not calculated exactly. But getting some were close to 13kmper liter. Just driven about 650kms.
Sabha, did you recently get your car wax polished or coated? Sometimes in the rains, a thin wax coating drips over the windscreen and causes the wipers to become noisy.
Sabha thx I am getting 18+ for Sunny D in City with AC on … NO service yet driven 7200 kms..
@Roshun Yes.. I did car wax polished. Will it go off with time? Or what should I do? I examined the wipers and they are good and new.
@Anupam I have not noted down the km in the odo at the time of filling. Just done 2 fillings. I think it will give close to 15kmper liter. (I shall confirm the mileage to you after may be 2500kms) But in any case I feel it wont give 18+km per liter in city. I knew the mileage before buying Ertiga. I bought it because of Practicality it offers at…[Read more]
Ah, that’s a probable cause for the noise. Shampoo the windscreen only nicely (or use Colin on the glass only) and also with a wet cloth and soap solution, clean the wiper blades, the noise will go away. Nothing to be worried about
what about civic
most of these cars are bound to be replaced in near future i.e. spark, aveo u-va , aveo sedan.
I guess U-Av n Aveo r no longer available.. that’s what I heard from Chevy dealer..
why is cedia losing its value i dont understand…its simply a rocket on the roads!!!
that is what i keep wondering too…answers please
It is quite funny to see manufacturers offering only one reverse light on cars. But yes, it is a cost saving and usually, the reverse light slot on the other side lamp is reserved for a rear fog light – hence the provision of only one reverse lamp. If you look at the sx4 for example, it has a reverse lamp on one light cluster and a rear fog lamp…[Read more]
I find it extremely stupid. It completely spoils the whole symmetry of the car. Car manufacturers who go to great lengths to ensure the car is esthetically perfect then go on and implement such a ridiculous cost-cutting measure. I don’t think that adding a second light would be that successful, because the counterpart on the other side is a red…[Read more]
In my opinion, its due to European lighting regulations that the design is so and the manufacturers do not bother to make India specific changes. Europe has right hand traffic and left hand drive vehicles. Also if you note the position of lamps in vehicles using a single reverse lamp and single fog lamp, they have the reverse lamp on the left and…[Read more]
the purpose of the reverse light has reduced from ability to see in dark while reversing to jst a small notification light for other cars to know that ya this car is goin to come back
I have noticed that in Etios, there are two reverse lamp slots, but one does not come with a bulb!! Massive savings for Toyota from that car
yep, It does make difference when customer compares the brochures of cars, Front and Rear fogs or just front fogs, Hence.
Around 6 lakh depending on the condition.
can expect upto 6.5 to 7 if tyre, body, engine condition are gud and no previous accidental case..depending on total mileage til now..
is thir finance available for 5 years old cars
Depends on the Odo reading more than anything but should be around Rs.5.5 to Rs.6 lakh if its in a good condition with all papers in place.
what would be the mileage of 5 years old innova 2.5 g
Swift VXi perform really well. I don’t think going for Dzire will be a good idea. And if you want better looking car, you can exchange your car but it wont be very beneficial for you.
Performance of the Swift VXI and Dzire VXI are identical. The only difference is that you get slightly more luggage space (316 litres) with the Dzire compared to 206 litres with the Swift. Just for this, do you think it’s worth losing about Rs. 1.2 lakh (resale of your Swift would have dropped 10%, and add the cost difference of about Rs. 55,000…[Read more]
if u go for ultimate looks and performance on swift go for swift sports.
Stretch little more and u can get 85PS Renault Duster also..an SUV. else i20 is good car. but maintenance cost is on higher side.. So swift better.. But true VFM in this segment is Ford Figo.
Go with Dzire, as it is your first car, wont face any problem in ownership and resale value is great too. Mileage would be better in Dzire and it will be more fun to drive.
ford goes high on the servicing cost slightly more.but ford figo is a really hard competitor to swift in terms of drive.its driving pleasure is really good..so if you donot wish to wait for 4 months or more for swift then instead of i20 i suggest ford figo
YOU CAN TRUST TOYOTA ETIOS LESS MAINTANCE ,GOOD MILEAGE & PERFORMANCE ALSO GOOD RESALE
For you Maruti Swift is the best choice.. It you can invest 7.5 lakh rs then go for ZDI variant.
Which city do you belong to? Although with 61k on the run anything around 3lakhs should be enough for a 6 year old Fiesta. Still have a check at olx.in or carwale.com for current pricing slabs in your city.
Unfortunately resale value on petrol cars has fallen now. 61,000 km in 6 years is fairly moderate usage (less than 900 km a month). If your car is in good condition, you should fetch Rs. 3 lakh to Rs. 3.25 lakh.
thank you.
Actually the extent of the swing in favor of diesel cars seems ridiculous to me. While petrol cars are available with discounts of 30k on an average, the diesel models are costlier by a good 1.5L in the least on most cars. So the actual difference is more in tune of 1.8L. On top of which many pay premium for speedy delivery. Think about it, just…[Read more]
Well said Shreyans . I will give one example . SX4 VXI is available 7.96 L in Delhi . They are offering 70 K discount which make it to 7.26 . Where as SX4 VDI is costing So there is gap of 2 lacs . in the same variant. Also people are buying diesel cars without any need. In fact my request to Govt is to reduce the prices of CNG to alternate fuel…[Read more]
This is the actual truth, totally agree with Shreyans Sir. I just wanna add another example I found it really interesting. A European auto-journalist bought a Gallardo, drove it regularly and completed 2,50,000 km. He sold it after that, I imagine how he did that.
Car makes have been cashing in on this collective mental dysfunctional syndrome of ours for many years now. The Government is rather late to jump onto the bandwagon. Anupam, I have observed that while CNG prices are in tune of Rs35 in metros like NCR and Mumbai, gas costs between 45-50 in all of Gujarat and also in places like Agra and Gwalior. I…[Read more]
In 2008 the cost difference between petrol and diesel hatchbacks was around 50,000/-. Today it is nearly 1,50,000/- to 1,75,000/-. Add discounts you get 2 lakhs, so one has to do the maths much more carefully, also considering the approximately 30% extra for maintenance in a diesel. The only good thing is the redeeming factor for resale. In fact,…[Read more]
sorry but i didnt get Mr. Shreyans’s comment exactly.can you please simplify the meaning for me?
Well, in my first comment, the idea was that not many actually keep the car long enough to recover the extra premium of buying a diesel car, leave alone cashing in on the lower running costs after that. As for the second point, the actual cost differential in the making of equivalent petrol and diesel engines is not at all much. Its more in tune…[Read more]
unnecessary fear…7 seater vs 5 seater as well less powerful engine vs small engine…Safari is king…no compare …shudnt cut cost…it will spoil the image of safari…

i edit much powerful engoine vs small engine…;)
i edit much powerful engoine vs small engine…;)
its good, tata cars have already high margins as compared to mahindras, it will keep the price in check
well well well well the king has suited for the challenge …. the choice of safari n duster n ecosport should be more on usability than size per say …………….but in india bigger is always better
The Safari was always the most comfortable car for 5 under 10L. Great move by Tata. Just keep on working with the quality and rest assured, the competition is in for some tough time.
excellent strategy to keep the sales of present safari going on along with the new storme..
