Of the three, the i20 diesel would be the most expensive of the lot (Asta CRDi with option pack). But the i20 is also the most powerful among the three. In terms of ride comfort, the Punto is probably the best of the lot, followed by the i20 and then the Polo. The Polo diesel loses out on engine power and refinement marginally compared to the…[Read more]
Polo and Punto are gr8 handlers… Polo suspension is well tuned for indian roads…Punto rides even better… the VW brand image gives u a higher social status… the i20 is a absolute value for money… if u want features go for i20, ride comfort punto, Brand value and handling – polo…. it is jus my say,….. the choice is urs…
all the three are good in thr own ways ma frnd… as for nw multijet engine is the best in terms of mileage, maintainence and performance. so i recommend PUNTO as it has 5 star safety rating. and punto comes 60-700000 less than other two.hence great value for money. with the mileage of 22kmpl on highways and top speed of 170plus kmph there is…[Read more]
i m agree with Sachin Dev….Sachin Advice is very very good…..go with followed by (1)punto(2)polo(3)i20….
i 20
I own a I20 Asta CRDI and Punto 90 BHP.Both are equally good . Punto has superior ride quality and excellent handling . Mileage wise I get both on the range of 19KM.I’m a long distance commuter and drive for long periods.I20 is far more superior in seating position and quality interiors.i20 is not good in 1 -2 gears but a best after that. Both has…[Read more]
Both ae equally good vehicles .. But Punto has a bad service under TATA when it comes to maintenance. They don’t know to service this superior MultiJet engine.Hyundai has an excellent service.
frnz… remove that concept out of ur mind that fiat have bad AFTER SALES SERVICE. tata guys have improved a lot. had a VISTA quadrajet earlier and nw a PUNTO. m completely satisfied with the servise they give. and TATAs have received a preguided instructions from FIAT that any minor r major querry related to fiat vehicles have to be rectified…[Read more]
Toyota Fortuner is the hottest selling SUV in the price range you have mentioned. The Fortuner is a sturdy vehicle that has macho looks, reliable sales & service network and can perform in off-roads as well. If you are not particular about off-road, you can also choose the 4×2 version. Check this out http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VOKL3wNoZDY
If it is a 7-seater SUV, then its Fortuner. For pure style and more modern looks, maybe the Koleos is better but it is a 5-seater. But its a totally personal choice. Some people still prefer the looks of the Endeavour. The safe answer is of course Fortuner.
Fortuner. There’s a reason it’s outselling every other SUV in that bracket. You may also consider the Hyundai Santa Fe, the Yeti and the Chevy Captiva. If you’re willing to wait for a few months, the Ssangyongs are also on their way.
Depends on what you need. If a Euro spec vehicle with 4 seats is all you need, I d say, go for the Yeti. It is chic, suave, extremely well finished and loaded with features, much better than the Fortuner, the Endeavor and the likes and most of all, it drives like a car. Take a TD and you will be floored, as long as you do not need more than 4…[Read more]
Oh and the Yeti is a phenomenal off roader too. Watch Jeremy Clarkson’s You Tube video for more tit bits on the very capable Yeti.
@ARAVINDHAN,mathew,kaiserketkar and devdath thanks a lot…actually space matters a lot and im looking for a 7 seater…so,if i wer to choose fortuner…are the 3rd row seats comfortable?…and their claimed mileage for diesel variant is 13 kmpl…but wil it actually satisfy that?…and wat bout waiting period for the vehicle?…
12 -13 is what you are likely to get, and it can go up or down by 1-2 kmpl due to the traffic conditions and driving styles. Third row is decent, though not ideal for long journeys (third rows are never very good in any SUv anyway)
No SUV, including the Q7 can seat 7 persons comfortably for long distances and the very concept of 7 seats is only for excise saving measures, in India. The only vehicle which gives you comfortable 7 seats today is the Innova. By the way, do you actually need an SUV or a people mover? Would you use the 4wd? Do you go offroad to places where a…[Read more]
Have no info on the new Scorpio. If space is your priority, you can try the Tata Aria. If muscular looks is your priority, you can try the Mahindra XUV500. Both are proper 7-seaters. Check this comparison video http://www.cartoq.com/comparison-video-mahindra-xuv500-w8-vs-tata-aria-pleasure/
thanks for the video aravindhan.from the start of the video i was like XUV 500 all d way…but even though i wait for the XUV500 bookings to re-open im not assured that il get one coz there is a luky draw dis time also…so how about scorpio or the mahindra xylo E9?…which u think is better?…or is der any chance of getting xuv 500 earlier?…im…[Read more]
Go For Tata Aria, Its Good Car, and If you are Planning Recently, Dealers Can offer you upto 2 Lakh Discount on 2011 Model, which i think is good deal, and Aria is Still ages advance in comfort and handling, Aria is actually a JLR Design which is Developed in UK itself
Nikhil, if you are ready to wait for 3-4 months, you could very well book the XUV and try it. In case you don’t get it, you could go for the Xylo if you seat more than 5 people regularly or the Scorpio if you usually travel with 4-5 people and need 7 seats only for short city trips and the occasional highway travel.
devdath,i really need your word on the scorpio…even though it has 4WD in the diesel variant, wat bout ABS and air bags?…it has become a priority nowadays and i really feel der should be ABS and air bags…and also heard that scorpio is not so comfortable in long trips…
I am a proud owner of the Scorpio for the past 1.2lac Kms and I can tell you that there is not one moment that I ve regretted my decision. However, when I bought mine, there was no option of ABS and Airbags which, at the moment, exists. Coming to long trips, I ve used my vehicle across all kinds of roads and across the country, multiple times. For…[Read more]
The negatives are: 3rd row only good for kids/short people, ride quality has scope for improvement and irky gizmos which do not work all the time.
devdath,thanks a lot…really appreciate your advice…:-)
It is too early to forecast this yet since none of them have been introduced officially to the Indian market by their manufacturers. However, internationally Renaults are comparatively more reliable than Fords.
@Devdath Narayan i was planning to book either one of dem but im really confused as to which should i go with…plz help me out…
Going by whatever info is already out, my bets would be on the Ecosport. Although the Duster is quite a capable vehicle, Renault has a wafer thin sales & service network as compared to Ford. The looks of the Duster are also a little plain-jane as compared to the radical looks of the Ford. And I imagine Ford will also load the Ecosport adequately…[Read more]
Have the bookings opened? I do not think so and hence I would suggest you wait till the bookings open since we d have tested both the vehicles by then and had some interaction with Ford and Renault and that should make things clearer. I can understand the excitement of booking a new car, but please hold your horses for now.
sure mate…thanks a lot…and bookings for renault have started in banglore…i enquired and as of now der are 15 members who hav already booked d vehicle…neways waiting for ur word on d cars…
It might be a booking by the dealer – sometimes they do it much before the actual launch.
Nikhil, bookings have opened though prices have not been announced. But maybe you should wait for the EcoSport also. It is definitely more modern looking. But prices are likely to be slightly higher than the Duster, as it is for the world market – the Duster is a low cost small SUV, so will be cheaper.
mathew,ya sure mate…and also i enquired bout ecosport dey say the diesl variant may cost from 7-10 lkhs…but ya wil book only after u guys reviews it…thanks guys…
renault
what will be approx price of ecosport ?
Starting price is likely to be higher than Duster (it is more modern and luxurious etc). I will have to guess – but I think it will be around 9 lakhs starting price on-road. Just my guess!
