I can spend upto 6.5 Lacs
Wagon R has a smaller engine as compared to the others. Its basically designed as a city car. There are better options for long trips. Firstly, for the expected running, which is rather high, consider a diesel over a petrol. Among the cars you have listed, Figo is the best to drive but I find the driver seat rather low and uncomfortable over long…[Read more]
I would suggest you opt for a diesel Figo as it’s best suited for long drives out of all the cars you have mentioned. Although you will be sitting quite low and people have had issues with its low ground clearance. If you want a better driving position then the Vista and Ritz diesel are also good options.
Hi will suggest to take a test drive of Honda brio. The car is very peppy to drive and Driving position is also good. Also you can get the fully loaded version in that budget.
Thanks for all your comments…. I just took test drive of liva and figo…comparing both, figo has quality interiors where liva lacks, still we can consider as it’s comes from toyota, space wise liva is good. But in the short ride, I am unable to decide which has best engine, any thoughts on this?
Hey Jaya, I think economics is also to be considered in terms of least downtime of the car not just initial payout. You should consider a diesel Swift, you wont regret the decision. Superb to drive for long journey, nice reliable torque (both Ritz and Swift use the same engine), for long drives the new Swift is very comfortable in terms of usable…[Read more]
Vista is VFM… very spacious…
With its highway manners, steering feedback and ride quality, the Punto easily outclasses all hatchbacks for long distance touring. The Swift and the Figo are a close next in competition. I do not think the Liva and the Brio or other “small” hatchbacks are any competition for the “big boys” like Figo, Punto, Fabia, Polo or the Swift. The i20 and…[Read more]
hi jayaprakash, My suggestion would be Figo, its highly under-rated car, try picking the basic diesel one, as yu planning a 1400Km ride often..diesel car is a must.. n its cheaper than the maruti swift.. yet has a very refined engine.. only negative is the torque, i.e ya initial pick up is goin to suffer a lil,, but the car on the whole is best…[Read more]
I OWN VISTA BUT I SUGGEST YOU TO GO FOR FIGO….
it really depends although swift is all-round a better car. But if you are looking for more space vista would make more sence
The Swift is more of a drivers car the Vista on the other hand is a practical family car with loads of space.
We did a comparison of the two cars last year: http://www.cartoq.com/why-the-tata-vista-diesel-is-better-value-than-maruti-suzuki-swift/
If you love driving, you will prefer the Swift. The Vista is better only if you want more rear seat space and a few more features (such as Bluetooth phone connectivity).
Vista has very good features for its price… Also, the efficiency is good….

Tata Vista has no competition… Its a VFM car and the features it provides are the best in that price range… Its the best in its class of cars..
Like all Mitsus, I hope this one is thoroughly engineered and a pleasure to drive and own. However, looking at Mitsubishi’s last 7-8 years’ work out here, I am quite pessimistic.
Another Micra looking car after Renault Pulse!
