i20 and Polo get cancelled automatically. Between the Swift and Punto, both cars have their own share of fans and yes, both are excellent to drive in diesel as well as in petrol(1.4 Punto, not 1.2) This is a Scorpio vs Safari kind of question!!!!

I20 and Polo have very soft suspension setups as compared to the other two. So their driving pleasure is limited to straight line acceleration. Swift & Punto comparison always leads to a set of people who bought the car for the sheer driving pleasure because that was their priority and a set of people who could argue about driving pleasure and…[Read more]

Since you want driving pleasure, I will talk only about that. Basically, the Swift and the Punto, despite having the same engine in diesel, have different approaches to driving. The Maruti is first off the block, faster in pick up and handles like a rally car, but with a video-game steering (i.e. no feedback). It probably has a better top speed.…[Read more]

Let me make it simple. Swift (rally spec not for public) – 1599 cc & 218 HP. Swift (best publicly available option) – 1599 cc & 123 HP. Grande Punto (best publicly available option) – 1368 cc & 178 HP. Grande Punto (rally spec not for public) – 1997 cc & 270 HP. Note that rally spec engines are naturally aspirated and the public version difference…[Read more]

You can test drive the Punto 90 HP. For driving pleasure the Fiat Punto would be a better option

The Maruti XA Alpha will take at least another year to develop. Not before end 2013, early 2014.

I’m also waiting for this one. Question is not when, my mind is asking Is this going to be the exact model which was showcased in Auto-Expo earlier this year or they going to do some changes to it?

I think Renault and Nissan are pushing too many similar cars in the market now, especially if you consider that the Koleos and X-Trail are also the same platform. What next? A Nissan Duster?

ha ha Sidhartha, totally agree with you. although i would be keen on seeing how Nissan modifies and prices the Duster. Hopefully they won’t do just a nose job and tail light job.

I feel Nissan and Renault have taken the platform sharing and rebadging to a whole new level. VW and Skoda have done it while retaining the individualities of the brands. And that’s how it SHOULD be.

Guys I am going to the Mahindra showroom today to see the XUV 500. My choice is between the Innova and the XUV. I am so so confused, need advice. Innova is known as a taxi car and has no oomph factor. Please help me decide!
