Hi Ravi…any particular reason you are not looking at Swift, i20, Polo etc? What are your priorities.

Looking at your choices, you don’t seem to want any of the larger selling, and hence commonly visible cars on the road. For your budget and among your choices, one of the better cars you can pick up is the Chevrolet Sail U-Va – it has plenty of space and is powered by a 1.3 litre Fiat sourced diesel engine similar to the Swift. The Pulse diesel is…[Read more]

I’ve already used a Swift VDi. I dont like the look of Polo. i20 exceeds my budget.

I would recommend the Renault Pulse over the Chevrolet U-VA. One because the U-VA is not at all exciting in any way and the 1.5L diesel motor in the Pulse might be a tad under-powered as compared to the competition but is a torquey and a fuel efficient engine.

If you love driving, you’ll prefer the Pulse. But for overall space, you’ll probably like the U-Va better, although the design is quite plain and boring. Drive both and see. U-Va may be better on maintenance because of their maintenance package offer and larger service network than Renault.

Both the Pulse and Sail U-Va are good cars. You should based on which one is more appealing to you. The Sail has smart storage space under its rear seats while the Pulse gets push button start. So its really a mixed bunch. My vote would be for the Pulse though, it is a good refined car that is comfortable and reasonably fun to drive.
