A 1-litre engine putting out 120 bhp and 170 Nm torque is something that’s new to the Indian market. Ford’s Ecoboost engine manages such power specs because of turbo-charging the engine.
As to your concern on whether it can cool the cabin – AC cooling depends on the size of the AC compressor used, and Ford will use an optimum size compressor to…[Read more]

i was also shocked when i saw small engine putting more power and that too from Ford, the torque is less for power but more for engine size.. that is going to affect the economy.. AC cooling the cabin is going to be question deffinitely but the cabin is small not that big.. but I think it will

I too am not sure if the AC will work fine…with such a small engine…none of the 1,000 cc cars are able to chill the cabin in delhi summers and most of these cars have cabins that are smaller than EcoSport.

The direct injection and turbo charging coupled with variable valve timing can definitely do that. With all these technologies f.e. would also be reduced to upto 20%. Ac effectiveness does not directly depend on engine size as the compressor drive belt is connected to crank shaft. Rather it may be dependent on engine output. So the 120 bhp and 170…[Read more]

Brio…provided you can wait for a while. Its a pretty good car with more space, more power and better handling but equally good mileage. Two negative that Brio has are: higher spare costs and the all-glass tailgate that could be vulnerable to frequent damage given how our traffic is.
