Why are you going for the Xenon? Mostly for style I guess :D Anyway its a good truck for that, I don’t think Mahindra Getaway, the only alternative, comes anywhere close to this!!

Get a GETAWAY :P . TATA has introduced a pick up truck with the xenon face just now.u dont want to break your heart seeing a grocery pick up as same as your car if you are considering the xenon for its styling :P .the getaway is a better scorpio.but mind you both these cars have tailspin because of the extended length at the back.If you can get…[Read more]

Why do you need a pick up? Is it only for the style quotient and exclusivity? Also the Xenon 4×4 – may be good for deserts, snow etc, but for hard core off-roading, the long wheelbase of the Xenon is a downer – it’s breakover angle is not good and it can get beached.

Hello Experts@Cartoq...Planning to buy a car (hatchback/SUV/MUV) of 5 seater and being a new on indian roads. I shortlisted Swift,Punto 90 HP and Qunato. Since i own a sedan for last 5 yrs in US and not interested any more. My first choice was Swift and couldnt bare queue and didnt like I20. I know the bad charecteristics of Quanto and is that bad to consider Quanto. Mostly office and weekend trip -- more --

Your question itself is the answer to ur question. Punto ticks in all the departments u need, its a perfect car with all the blend of safety, comfort & very good handling. Apart from ur listed vehicles Maruti Ertiga(MUV) & Renault Duster (SUV) base diesel model is in ur budget which is almost none when it comes to safety. Punto is most stylish &…[Read more]

Punto could suit you the best. It’s got the best handling and ride quality in its segment. Though the rear seats may feel a bit cramped, it’s just fun to drive with the 90Hp motor. You can consider the Renault Duster(85) as well.Comfortable for 5 and good driving dynamics, which makes it feel more car like. It may make you stretch your a budget a…[Read more]

The Quanto isn’t all that great a vehicle, especially for you coming from a sedan in the US. From the 3 options you’ve mentioned, the Punto fits your bill best. But if you’re open to widening your net, then I would suggest you consider the Honda Jazz. And if you feel inclined towards and SUV, then you can consider the lower versions of either the…[Read more]

Since you have stayed & used vehicles in the US, using a SUV or MUV in Pune will be very irritating (due to traffic) as your options have a manual or stick shift (whereas most vehicles in the US have automatic transmissions). Secondly the traffic in Pune is nothing to write about & having a hatch makes a lot more sense than a bigger vehicle…[Read more]

Well everyone have made all the important points, so I won’t repeat them :) Check out the Honda Brio AT, will be excellent in traffic, and you may already be used to ATs in US. If you want to go manual, then consider Jazz too, along with Swift and Punto. A bit more spacious than the Swift which might make you feel too cramped after large cars in US.

Thanks a lot for your prompt suggestions. Most of my colleagues suggested a Diesel vehicle and considering all of your suggestions, i am inclining towards Punto 90 HP (Note; i am already acquainted to manual transmission). Are there any better alternatives to Punto?

Another alternative would be the I20 Asta, which has a laundry list of features and not a long waiting period as compared to the Swift. Its suspension setup is very soft which translates to a lot of body roll as speeds climb, but that is not a problem for sedate drivers. The Figo is a very VFM alternative which will save a noticeable amount of…[Read more]

Elantra & Cruze. Differentiate these two itself. If u want Raw power & performance car then Cruze tops the list. If u need comfortable, full of features & fuel efficient car then Elantra is best.

The Elantra’s the new kid on the block- fully loaded and a great overall package. It would be the logical choice. If you want a more classic design and solid build quality, then the Jetta’s and equally good alternative. Instead of the Innova, among the MUV/SUVs, you can look at the XUV500 and the Skoda Yeti as well.

Sharanjeet i suggest Cruze LTZ which will be in ur budget. Feel of luxury is enough & features are also just below the elantra in Cruze. Where the real difference between those two cars is accelerator paddle. Push the paddle n cruze is really a rocket. Price is same close to 15 lakhs for both Elantra SX & Cruze LTZ

Do check out the Skoda Yeti. There are some excellent discounts being offered on the Yeti. The build quality both inside and outside is outstanding with a long list of features. It rides well in the city with minimal turbo-lag and is a great highway cruiser. The 4×2 Active and Ambition should be available in your budget.

No there is no V2 planned for the XUV500. M&M have been consistently upgrading it as and when problems have cropped up. Updates have kept happening to the underproduction vehicles and those have also been available to all XUVs as retrofits. As it stands today, the XUV is a pretty sorted out vehicle.

ABS stands for anti lock brakes and in an ABS equipped car, the wheels do not lock upon hard braking so the car does not skid uncontrollably and you have steering control even under hard braking. In today’s day and age it is a must have on a new car. You can look up the price difference in our Instant Price Finder App on the left hand side of the page.

Recomendation in the industry is that if a EBS and ABS are done externally, it may not get too compatible with the vehicle, its recomended to pick the car up which has an EBS/ABS instaled at Factory on default….

In terms of space and comfort, the Safari is better than an Innova, not to mention that it maintains its ride quality even on really bad roads. Only the Innova last row is slightly better than the Safari. But essentially last row of almost every vehicle in this segment except Xylo is bad.

Agree with Gaganpreet Singh. Innova is more comfortable than a fortuner. Reason is bcos the the floor of frotuner is high rised which tends to keep ur legs a little high, lacking under-thigh support. Just two points from my side: while the Innova is very comfortable but the Safari is almost there.
