Go for the Amaze with full confidence. It is the best diesel car you can have for 7L
It seems to be the best Diesel car in the category, and priced — too good!
Hi Mr.Palash, Maximizing aluminium use in the engine has helped Honda to get world’s lightest diesel engine..However, the negative aspects of such material specifications are increased vibrations and noise levels. To minimize these Honda has stiffened the crank case and used liquid filled engine mounts as compared to regular rubber engine mounts. …[Read more]
I’ll just say that Honda engineers are smarter and me and you. Honda makes the best engines in the world, period. Given how crucial this iDTEC engine is for them, and given how much development they have done, you can safely bet that they have more than covered all bases.
On the contrary All Aluminium engine is better in all respects and has better life too as Aluminium is more resistant to wear n tear, old zen all aluminium was best n the only one at that time n it lasted decades n still is a gem
The Honda engines in petrol are amongst the best and most reliable there are in the world. They are also the biggest manufacturers of engines in the world. The diesel should also be wonderful without any doubt..
The Honda 1.5 idtec engine uses exactly the same engine block as the 1.6 iDtec that is sold in Europe in the new Civic. This engine was unveiled in Tokyo last year and has got many awards for its brilliant construction. I think it will be an engine that will last quite well. The technical presentation we were shown about this engine was truly…[Read more]
BUT honda’s claim falls short, it isn’t the lightest D engine in the world, even the Renault K9K is lighter than idtec and Multijet is even more at mere 125kgs. Throw some light on this!
yea it is true that i-DTEC engine weighs 152Kgs while others incl. multijet weighs lesser.. but it is the Lightest diesel engine when comparing with those ones with similar power ratings … if u compare it wid multijet or K9K engines, 1.5L i-DTEC engine puts out more power…. Regards
Its not fair to compare this 100hp engine with the 1.3MJD or the 88 or 65hp versions of the K9K. This engine is up there with the 1.6 ltr engines of the Rapid and co.
a 1.5 could be compared with a 1.5, i-Detec weighs 152 kgs while K9k weighs 127 kgs and it also develops 110 HP in fluence/Duster. Torque figures of iDetec are not that great at about 200NM compared to Multijet or K9K. Multijet has 209 on Punto 90 Hp, 197 on 75 hp and duster has 250 NM of torque.
Whats the use of 250Nm when there is so much turbo lag? This 100hp iDTEC is as driveable as the 65hp K9K. Going by the 1.6 version of this engine, expect a serious bump in torque when its VGT equipped version is launched in the. City.
Common guys Increasing the power and torque figures shouldn’t add into the weight of the engine. Also K9K with VGT develops 105BHP so its unfair to disguise Honda’s falling short claim by boasting about the power! HUH!
Mr.Sukhpreet, check this link http://www.cartoq.com/honda-amaze-vs-chevrolet-sail-which-offers-better-value-for-money/
Definitely Sail and maybe Dzire too shall offer discounts now. But Amaze is the clear winner right now!
Tough choice. With the Sail you get a bigger car for the same price. But with the Honda, you get better fuel efficiency and performance. In terms of maintenance, GM offers a good package for three years (Rs. 19,100). Honda offers a similar maintenance package for two years (15,000 Rs). Honda now has 90% localization on its parts, so parts cost has…[Read more]
thanks experts
sail is best for you
without a doubt its fiesta for handling..
The Fiesta is better, no two ways about it. But the Dzire is pretty good on its own right.
Check out the Honda Amaze too!
Amaze should definitely be cheaper, more fuel efficient and more fun to drive, but would be less spacious than the Ertiga, as it is a sub 4 meter car. BUT with Ertiga you get more space yet reasonably compact, comfortable sitting, more flexibility of space, more seats if need be, very decent driving — if not really in the fun league, reasonably…[Read more]
I feel the Amaze interiors bland and seats wafer thin. Also Looks like Honda has played with the available space a lot or to the max. Ertiga is not like that. they have proper seats with height adjust head rest. And with Ertiga’s flexi seating you can get the same amount of space. Getting into ertiga and out is also easy. Thanks to heigher seats…[Read more]
But the sitting comfort in the rear seat is really bad in Amaze. I was very disappointed when I saw the car. Ertiga would be a better option.
I would also go ahead with what everyone is saying. Out of these two, I would go for Ertiga any day because one thing I know for sure is – I can accommodate extra luggage or extra members in my car whenever I want
i will suggest that if only four people are going to travel then go for Amaze as it has got more power, millage and i think it is cheaper also(not very sure). but if want to carry 6 people then only ertiga make seance else amaze is better.
U are comparing 2 cars from entire different segment..
If u are ready to pay the extra cash..y not will any1 buy the Ertiga over the Amaze
The Ertiga is a more practical choice, and as Dave said, it gives you the option to carry more people, or more luggage when you need it. But the Ertiga would probably be Rs. 1 lakh more, variant for variant compared to the Amaze.
Different body type cars….. Amaze is obviously a fun ride and has sufficient boot space(400) …. mileage is also 25.6approx… Ertiga on the other hand is bigger car….
None with the petrol. The diesel though will be a handful in hill driving or in bumper to bumper traffic, blame the massive turbo lag.
If you can find space to fit in your luggage with seven on board, then there shouldn’t be any issue with the Ertiga. I’ve seen many opting for roof racks on the car.
Even with the roof rack loaded and 6 – 7 people onboard, I did not feel any major problem in my diesel Ertiga in city and on highway. I have not gone to steep mountain areas in this like the Himalayan areas etc., but in the Aravalis it has not given me any trouble, maybe only a lower gear may be required. I have done about 17000 km in 5.5 months.
Normally it is the Toyota that had good built quality in cars.their cars set a benchmark in quality.but sadly this is not the case with the Etios and the Liva. These cars are budget built Toyota as the company focused more in keeping the costs down and this is evident the moment you step in the car.the plastic quality is only average and the metal…[Read more]
Agree wid Mr.Joy.. both r good cars, consider classic if u need better built quality n looks while consider etios if u need d toyota brand value & A.S.S…. regards
At these price points, I would suggest that you look at the Ertiga too.
The VDi engine is not doing good in the Ertiga, it is doing Very Good…!!
Ertiga Diesel uses 1.3 DDiS Super Turbo Diesel engine putting out 89Bhp of power..which is also used in the Maruti Sx4..
The engine is very good, smooth as well as fuel efficient…Maruti claims 20.77Kmpl for the diesel motor
I own an Ertiga (VDI) Its a great car .. to own but i personally suggest that you should also check out Duster .. If you don’t need extra seats .. Ertiga is practical car
Ertiga scores over the duster any day, except in looks!
Its a very smart and compelling buy. The engine is a proven performer. The car is very capable on the open highway. But turbo lag.is a bother in city or on the hills. You need to keep the engine in its power band. City FE is in tune of 15kmpl. Around 17-18kmpl on the highway. The cabin is the same as the Dzire’s; the seating position and space…[Read more]
u will feel as slight underpowered cz d multijet engine seems to be small for such a big vehicle… however, ertiga DDiS is a good pick since it is more spacious,comfortable,fuel-efficient n above all marutis reliability n A.S.S…. i wud pick Ertiga anyday instead of any sedan @ similar price….
Nice choice.. Even I had booked both Desire and Ertiga.. And I went ahead with Ertiga.. Has good drive in city.. In highway also it is better. the seating position is higher than the sedan and ground clearance is also better. A practical choise. Please note that maruti service and labour costs have risen. So but the network is the best.
Between the Dzire and Ertiga, the Ertiga is definitely makes a lot more sense. I would ask you to try and stretch to the Zdi since the Vdi loses out on airbags and alloys which are worth more than the price differential.
Ertiga makes a good choice… Its better than the Dzire…
It has car like chassis so handing and ride quality will not be a problem..
U may get around 14-15kmpl in city and around 17-18 kmpl on highways…
I also Suggest u to look for a Top Model if u want Airbags And ABS
Airbags and Alloy Wheels
Ertiga any day, blindly.
The cons about the Quanto are more important for me, bad handling…too much body roll and well…ugly. The Ertiga on the other hand scores better in terms of being a more complete MUV.
Ertiga scores better over Quanto..have driven Ertiga and it offers good comfort and is stable on road and no body roll..Quanto on other side is a Box on 4 wheels..though its build i mean sheet metal is strong but is totally out of shape…take test drives of both and take a call..
Ertiga has the edge.. it has better engine( Proven one ) atleast looks decent and ok as compared to Quanto IMHO…more worthy on road..
ertiga.quantos third row is more like a cage.ertiga for handling.ertiga for maintainance.
Ertiga Ertiga Ertiga!
