Both VW cars are significantly more expensive to maintain as compared to, say Swift or i20 diesels. Neither are they as fuel efficient nor do they have the same modicum of performance. Choose bw the Maruti and the Hyundai and the Fiat Punto if you want your car to be light on your pocket.

Low maintenance costs and fuel efficiency – if these are your priorities, the Swift is the best of the lot from your above list.

@kushal gupta : Athough the cost of regular servicing is not very high for Fabia, it is the spares that are significantly expensive. But I also believe that Fabia is a part german car so u won’t need spares that often..And as for you query about i20 there were complaints about rattles in the old car which as far as i know have been taken care of…[Read more]

Dzire diesel? Yes, the waiting period is at least 4 months, even though the Dzire is selling over 16,000 cars a month at full production capacity. What was the waiting period that the dealer told you?

Maruti Suzuki unveils two small cars - Palette and MR Wagon - at Auto Expo 2012

Maruti Suzuki seems to have decided that crowding the small car segment is the way to protect its market share—and that may not be a bad move. So it is showcasing two cars-- Palette and MR Wagon—at Auto Expo 2012.

I have been confused for the past one month about which car to buy. My options are the MAruti Suzuki Swift Vxi, Volkswagen Polo Trendline, Skoda Fabia Active Plus and the 2012 Fiat Punto Active.

Swift will take to come even after you book it. 3-4 months depending on your city. But if super reliability is what you want, you should wait.

Skoda Fabia is a good car, and many are happy with it. But Skoda’s service has not been great in the past.

Polo is the classiest of the lot, just my personal opinion.

Punto is the car that car…[Read more]

swift is the cheapest in this category with four cylinder engine(87 Bhp) but in fabia and polo shares the same engine “three cylinder” (75 Bhp) but in them you can say polo is a drivers car, it is so fun to drive even if it is only 75Bhp. space vice swift and fabia are good polo having little less space in back.you will get more options in swift…[Read more]

There’s a reason for the Swift having over 100,000 bookings… and that’s its reliability and all-round good offering – good power, good drivability and decent styling. Polo is a close second overall. Fabia, a good car, spacious, but let down by service horror stories, and that’s the same case with the Punto too.
