I think there’s no diesel first hand cars for that price tag, Go for a used swift if ur lukng for less maintenance car or else go for fabia or polo. If u want to go for new car, go for HONDA BRIO S MT, its best.

You have limited options in diesel cars below 5 lacs, but you’ll get lower variants of the Indica, the Indigo CS, the Chevy Beat and the Ford Figo. Amongst these options the Beat is the most fuel efficient and feature rich, while the Figo is the most spacious and comfortable. Indica is spacious as well, but fit-finish and service are a bit…[Read more]

At strictly upto 5L, your choice among new diesels is basically restricted to the Indica. Lower models of the Beat, Figo and Ritz are all 5+ OTR

Add a lakh and you bring into the equation decently kitted models of the Beat, Figo and the Ritz. And the Swift LDi, just about. Beat plays the cool card with its looks and gizmos and is perhaps best suited to city use. Figo’s got the space and is great to drive. Ritz is perhaps the ultimate all rounder. Swift LDi is too bare and basic to be…[Read more]

Diesel sedan – what do you think about the looks of Linea, Vento and Sunny? I like Sunny’s looks – a bit old school, but classy and its very spacious. One of our members checked out spare parts costs and its quite cheap, comparable to Honda or Maruti parts. But as looks are important o you, we have two interesting vehicles coming up. Renault…[Read more]

The Duster is interesting looking, and will have a fuel-efficient diesel. Among the current lot in the market, the Skoda Rapid and Fiat Linea diesel are fuel-efficient and classy looking sedans. Both have a big car feel. Sunny – you may be let down by the interiors – as its rather plain, but it is the most spacious of all the cars. Since you want…[Read more]

The new Ford Fiesta looks stylish and is fuel efficient (23 kmpl ARAI mileage) too. The Fiesta is a true driver’s car, comes with refined engines, futuristic dashboard and impressive features. The only drawback is that it doesn’t offer more space for rear seat passengers like other cars in its segment. So, I recommend the Fiesta

If all round economy is a prime concern, I think you should look no further than the Ertiga. Sedan or SUV, this car provides the best of both worlds. Its good to drive, seats 7 and looks good on the inside and on the outside. Reliability is top notch and the car is thoroughly engineered without any corners being cut. More importantly, you can…[Read more]

“Good-looking” is a highly subjective word. Some people like the Verna’s cuts and curves, some like the Vento / Rapid’s understated style, some like the Scorpio’s brashness, some like Fiesta’s futuristic styling while some like the Sunny’s goofy grinning face (my opinion). Personally speaking, I find that the Fiat Linea is very good looking,…[Read more]
