Alto K10, perhaps. I don’t think any other hatchback or any sedan makes the cut. This is something restricted to truck based old school SUVs like Bolero, Scorpio, Safari, Fortuner and like.

Yes, there is hardly any hatchback with visible bonnet from driver’s side now-a-days.

XUV 500 (Five o.o) is named ending an O because Mahindra feels its lucky to end all the cars with the Initial “O”
As seen,, Almost all of the Mahindra cars have cars ending with the name “O”..
Scorpio, Bolero, Verito, Quanto, Xylo, E2O, XUV 5OO except the THAR :)

I own diesel Swift & Ritz. While I use Swift for factory trips & ling journeys, Ritz remains in-town affair for my wife & kids. Now, the three kids have grown up, they are in college and we need bigger vehicle for journeys. I shall sell out Swift (completed 1.05 lac in 5 years) & buy one. What would you suggest? MPV or Sedan? My budget is around 15 Lac.

This means that now u have a family of 5 people..
So why squeeze them in a Sedan???
        Go for a MPV..
And at a budget of 15lac.. go with the Innova..
Will be one of the best choices :)

It should be a MPV then. Options, I think its the Ertiga or the Innova but I’d go for the Innova. Though a sedan isn’t an issue too but when your whole family is outing then the rear 3 passenger aren’t going to be happy throughout the journey.

well three grown up kids and parents, with that high budget, the only thing which clicks in my mind is the yetti !!! of course you can get a 7 or 8 seater innova too, but just decide yourself, what you want, the posh pride and joy ride …. or big commuter vehicle for use when family grows (hardly we make 7 seated trips isn’t it)…… if you want…[Read more]

I would choose Scorpio for your requirements. Enough space for family, top end variant with 4×4 comes within budget, lot more extra luggage can be carried if you put a luggage carrier on top, better road presence than that of Ertiga / Innova. Better ground clearance & 4×4 capability will ensure that even if vehicle has full payload (passengers +…[Read more]

Best vehicle for 5: Safari Storme. If I were you, I would buy the Storme 4×4. A modern, updated SUV with plenty of power, space, commanding road presence and unmatched comfort. Immensely capable both on and off the road.

As a prospective Innova buyer, you are willing to spend in tune of 10-12L. So, I will direct you towards the Safari Storme, which is the most spacious and comfortable vehicle around to seat 5. It will be a genuine upgrade over the Swift.

There’s this company ‘Spark Minda’. You can contact them, they are specialized for this too and also are Hyundai officially uses their products and its obvious Hyundai will charge more for the same. But I think getting it fitted solely by Hyundai would be better for you cause I don’t think for this they will be using SMinda’s help.

I would suggest a used Scorpio VLX – easily available in white I’m sure. EcoSport being a 4-seater and much, much smaller won’t serve your purpose of road presence as such. Tata Safari Dicor too would be available, but I would rate M&M service and overall longevity slightly higher than Tata at the moment. And if its a vehicle that’s outside…[Read more]

Hi, I a looking at buying an automatic car and have shortlisted the ecosport and the amaze. My travel is around 25-30 kms a day and is mainly highway driving. Could you suggest which one i could go for? The other point is I am enthused by the ertiga too even though it is not an automatic. Which one would be the best bet? If you are comparing 75hp Punto, then its definitely not up against i20 Asta, in which case it is the better car. If you are comparing Punto 90 & Asta, 90 is the better car. Either ways, in a similar budget Punto is better than i20 as a product. Regards.

Fiat has lost many potential customers for various reasons amongst which Tata-Fiat dealers is one important reason which resulted in Fiat going in for independent dealer network. @ Amit..how different is punto 90hp and 74 hp in terms of ride quality, power, comfort , features and FE. Is it worth to spend more on 90hp even if you drive mostly in city and rarely on highways. Is it a good deal to buy 74 hp punto (diesel), one of my cousin intend to do so.

Difference in 75 & 90 is visible around 100 – 120 kmph & will be more & more as speeds will increase. 90 is strong & responsive & speedo needle moves up easily even if its around 150 kmph. Most people take the 90 since it offers too many things (on a technical level) over the 75 for just around 30k extra. Difference in cost of turbo itself is…[Read more]
