If you are using wider tyres, yes, you need the wider rims. There will be a change definitely to the handling (as well as wider stance) of the car, but mostly within limits.
Hi Roshun,
Thanks for the reply. So would the changes be for good? And I`ll stick to the OEM 175 profile tires, only the width would be increased from 5.5 J to 6.5 J. Also, I think the sidewall width would decrease. Is it correct?
Very correct. The sidewall height would decrease, which will result in harsher ride quality. Ideally, you should keep the stock alloys(which are assured to be of top notch quality) and opt for wider 195mm tires.
Hi Shreyans, Thanks for the reply. Maybe I`ll stick to the old OEM alloys and change them maybe 4-5 years from now. Thanks to you and Roshun for the kind help
Officially no.. but maybe its because they havent made an official announcement. But sales numbers are really low, and they are gearing up for the launch of the new Civic..
They havn’t claimed it officially but they have stopped import of parts that are used in Civic so that means in a few months announcement will be made. The same is with Accord. But Accord shall come again when they plan to bring its 9th generation model to India. With the absence of Diesel engine the sales are nowhere near Corolla/Cruze/Laura or…[Read more]
They will be able to handle regular jobs like oil/filter changes and brake pads. But I doubt they will be able to sort out the notorious niggles and provide software updates.
For better comfort and brand value…Toyota innova is the best!!! but its an MUV…. other SUV is ssangyong rexton which is lot more expensive than XUV
The service center will be able to do regular maintenance jobs.but the xuv has got some nerdy electrical stuff which if found faulty can’t be done by normal technicians it required trained M&M mechanics.but the problems with the car has been sorted out and it is less likely that you will encounter one now.Regards…
Shishir, I am no expert
but if the car is in good conditions there should not be any issue considering you are planning to keep it for long. Expect the price in b/w 8 to 9 lakh

Car will be perfectly fine of the owners have treated it well. Normally Civics do not even require any great car. Just dont crash them on speedbreakers or get into accidents! As this car has already had 3 owners, you have to do a thorough check to make sure everything is fine. If they have been nice to it, then you wont face any issues. (I have a…[Read more]
Thanks for the help Himanshu and Babychen
Babychen : What should be the expected price here in Bangalore? I will be test driving the car tomorrow so what should I watch for? Sorry this is my first used car so want a bang for the buck.
not more than 4 lakhs as in chandigarh prices of used cars
4-5 lac at max since civic has very poor resale value and your civic had already 3 owners. mere average of 7 on petrol has no customers in resale market as one who actually can offord civic will go for new one.
I am assuming that you are asking about the Auto Expo thats held in Pragati Maidan in New Delhi. So the expo happens every 2 years so the last time was in 2012 so the next one would be in 2014 and not 2013
Auto-Expo 2013 will going to be held at the India Expo Centre and Mart in Greater Noida – some 38-39km away from Pragati Maidan. Date- Feb 6- Feb 12
Autoshop in Koramangala.
Keeping the RPM level according to the manual will make difference in the life of the engine by almost double. New engines have new parts that need to get accustomed to their role in your car’s engine specially the piston rings. These rings need to shape themselves to the cylinders in your car’s engine, and it takes time and careful driving for…[Read more]
I second Chandan`s thoughts. Ideal rev band should be 2500 rpm for the first 1000 kms ATLEAST
Deepak, you can go as per the instructions of the manufacturer, they know best if the engine has been run in a bit already or you need to do it. But here is the best part, driving around smoothly will get you familiarized with the cars dynamics. Have fun.
Its Center of Gravity..
I think its the distance of the lowest point on the chassis from the ground.
If you are asking about from where ground clearance is measured – it is the lowest point of the vehicle, usually the differential / engine sump / suspension mounting points. If you are asking for a particular vehicle type, what the max ground clearance can be – that is governed by multiple factors, suspension height, centre of gravity, tyre size,…[Read more]
Not within the first 1000. Stick with the service intervals prescribed in the manual, +-200km.
initial services dont skip the mark.. especially with diesel..as its a new engine the friction would be higher for next 3000-5000 kms.. Though the technology has improved and engine design has got better..its always preferred to change oils etc more frequently when the engine is in its run in period..
1st servicing should be done on completion of 1 month and/or on completion of 1000 km in odo whichever is earlier.
And non compliance of the servicing schedule may lead to your warranty becoming null and void.
Different cars have different intervals for their services. For example polo has its 1st service after 1 year or 15000 km.So read ur user manual and do the service accordingly.Mostly your dealer might call you saying thats its due for service..
This is for Maruti. Different makers have different schedules.
Considering all your inputs, the Sail U-Va should suit you better. Its really spacious at front and rear, the high driver seat gives better comfort and thigh support even for tall persons, large glass area aids in good visibility. It has got the best diesel engine of the three. Its better than Figo and Etios in most of the factors.
Etios is not worth for what you pay, Figo is underpowered and not that spacious compared to Sail and Etios. But Sail is the best overall package considering safety, space, price, quality, engine, performance, etc…
Here, Etios is the vehicle that suits your requirement. Its diesel engine will offer you max mileage and inside space and its a good overall package apart from looks.
Between these 3, the most suitable is the Sail. Its seats are set higher than the others. Headroom is better, and ride quality significantly so. Its diesel engine is also superior to Figo’s and Liva’s.
Though Sail is apt for you its the brand which kills this product…Try Ritz as well!
Sail it is. Test Drove it and returned in my colleague`s Liva and found former to be a better overall package.
punto and vista has the best legroom hav a look at them also..
i would suggest that you should wait before you invest 6-7 lacs on a product which just entered the market…let it be on indian roads for 6-8 months…this is what i would suggest rest if u have made up your mind then go for it…else try figo and then liva…i myself have figo which i bought this week and i chose it over polo…i my dad and my…[Read more]
