if u hve small family take honda if u hv big family take duster..
if u r looking for VFM vehicle than Renault duster is good choice, Honda city will be soon available in deisel variant, which will definately affect petrol version demands and resale value.
Both the vehicles are 5 seater. In your budget, you wont get Duster’s top variant. You will rather get the base variant of duster diesel and mid variant of petrol. If your running is not much (say below 800 km per month) than pick City as you will get all the safety features in it + lot of equipments over Duster. However, if you used to drive n…[Read more]

Within Rs. 9 lakh, the Honda City would be a better car – as you’ll get a mid-variant City, while you’ll only get the base variant Duster. City comes with ABS and airbags in all variants, and I’d value safety as a big plus point here.
Hi Roshun, you are one awesome car enthusiast. Since you have mentioned about safety, why don’t the experts here educate people here on basic road safety, importance of seat belts, abs, airbags etc by posting some good articles
Gas conversion will affect the perfrmance f d car badly & also remember dat d cars warranty vl become void if u go for such conversions during d warranty period….. so i recommend u to go for a dsl straightly… you can evn consider MS D’zire or Ford Classic…. If u need a car which has resale value, affordable maintenance cost & above all…[Read more]
First think..at 1600 kms /month.u should definitely go for a diesel car…
if u want good mileage, less maintenance and vfm car,u should go for Maruti Dzire….and if u want good mileage along with more space..then ford classic is really good!!!
Its become fashionable to opt for diesel these days. Truth be told, running costs on CNG are lower than on diesel. As for the car, the kit should be sequential and properly tuned to your engine. Secondly, you need to be particular about the scheduled and preventive maintenance. Oils and filters must be changed at the specified intervals and…[Read more]
1600 km per month, least fuel bills, cheap maintenance, VFM, good to drive in city and on highways, Mumbai location – SX4 Green (CNG variant). Cheaper on a per km basis for fuel bills than even diesel. Maintenance inline with petrol cars, hence not expensive like diesel. Mumbai has very good CNG availability and no huge lines on CNG stations.…[Read more]
Get the SX4 Green as Amit said or Honda city CNG variant.A petrol is a strict NO to the 1600km running.A diesel is also good if you want more power out of the car.Remember CNG causes less pollution than petrol and diesel. Both diesel and CNG give good mileage these days.If going for CNG stick to factory fitted CNG kit only.getting a new car and…[Read more]
and if i have to go for diesal than which is better car i will keep this car for around 6 to 7 year
u should go for dzire
Hyundai elantra or Chevy CRuze
Toyota Altis wud fit ur budget… it offers decent drivability, mileage, comforts n toyota’s A.S.S..d oly prob. is dat it has an underpowered dsl engine… if ure ready to extend ur budget a bit, consider Chevy Cruze which offers stunning power n perfrmance alng wid looks……
All three cars are above are good choices for different types of people. For pure power, it is the Cruze. Elantra looks quite modern, like a grown up Verna and it is perhaps the most stylist and feature rich of the three. Altis is best as a chauffeur driven car, and is most comfortable at city driving speeds. As your driving is mostly city, I…[Read more]
skoda rapid is good for u…
For mainly city use, I think the Elantra makes most sense. Light controls, good engines, comfortable low speed ride and plenty of features in the plush cabin. Opt for the diesel.
thanks for you time friends. Ofcourse the suggested cars are much seen on roads. How about Renault Duster, will it be a good deal for a SUV in a lil less price?
It has better GC and can take decent amount of abuse without complaining. Thats about it. Otherwise, its a lesser car than all options being considered here. If your driving is restricted to good roads, it does not make much sense.
swift vdi
petrol or diesel? average running? In petrol- Honda Jazz… Diesel- Ford figo (VFM) or i20 (feature wise)
mahindra c4 diesel
Depending on your usage, if you need a diesel the Qanto is decent. But if you do not need a diesel then Ertiga is a far better car. Do check your running and space requirements.
If you are thinking 7 seats, drop the Quanto. The third row jump seats are just not usable. Ertiga is a better vehicle.
skoda rapid is good….if u want more features and good mileage u can go for Hyundai verna…..
In SUV,,,u may get Renault Duster diesel…its vry powerful.
If you are planning Rapid, then its a very good car.. and the plus point is, you can re tune this car to 130 BHP. if you are considering an SUV and duster 110, and Scorpio both are in your range.. duster has a bit turbo lag. over all its a good car..
At this point of time, if you are considering a compact SUV, than you must wait for the upcoming Ecosport and than take some decision of buying. However if you dont wat to wait then Duster 110 RxZ is a good choice. In case of a sedan car, Skoda Rapid is a good car with good handling ability , you can also consider Verna if you want great looks and…[Read more]
@Shrang tyagi.. I would like to know how do u re tune Rapid to 130 BHP?? ive got one..
u take duster of 30 rupees and rub the board first
@Samay this is done by using a diesel tuning box or by getting the ECU remapped.
yes shreyans is very right.. Rapid has a variable geometry turbo charger.. so you can now adjust the turbo pressure also… ECU remapped is also good.. but plug and play device is always best.. which is a diesel tuning box.. @Samay Sandhu..
BTW any cons fr skoda rapid bfr last cal!!!!!
Hi Tushant Khatwani ur choice s nt bad.but u can choose from d following cars.Always go for diesel cars. nissan sunny , volkwagen vento ,maruthi sx4 , fiat linea, ford fiesta.. finally chevrolet cruze. ythe best diesel car ever in the market with great looks
2 things that most prospective Skoda buyers are concerned about. Service and support and the interior plastic quality(as compared with the competition)
and there are no steering mounted controls..
Thank u ol… i just booked my new skoda rapid top end diesel variant….^^white colour, fully loaded accessories very exited :>BUT hv 2 wait till wednesday!!!! will get back 2 u with real experience…thank’s everybody ur opinion really mattered….
@Shrang & Shreyans.. Could you plz let me know any good ppl in delhi who can help me retune my rapid?
Contact Autopsyche (Gurgaon) for a tuning box. I you want to go the remap way, the closest tuner who is good in my knowledge is Kiirus(Mumbai). But you dont need to go there in person. They have a tie up with a courier company and they ship back ECUs the same day after remapping them. Refer their website for further details.
hey guys need help!!! heard lots of bad comments about skoda services….not up to the mark>expensive as well..really want to knw ur feedback about there services in jaipur particularly…answer asap….really lookin fr ur feedback..
skoda rapid owners are thankfully wellcome…..
What you have heard is mostly correct. Service is dealer specific but with Skoda, it generally tends to be bad. Bad as well as expensive. Same goes for VW as well. If low maintenance costs are a priority, you should consider other brands.
company claims 16.7kmpl…. bt u may get 12-13 in city and 15-16 on highways …
13.5-14kmpl in city(Delhi traffic), 17-18kmpl on the highway.
100-1100
100-1100
how can u get 17-18 on highways whn the company gives a claimed mileage of 16.7???
i get around 19kmpl on highways…
@Shenoy Well, thats what I get on regular highways around Delhi. The best I’v got is 19.6kmpl. All figures are with AC.
well..if thats the thing..thn honda should claim more…..and congrats…its good to hear jazz giving mileage of 18 on highways…… @Shreyans
i get around 14kmpl with a/c on….in my hyundai i20 in city driving conditions
Claimed figures are as per the ARAI test norms. Many companies tune their engines to get unrealistic figures in these tests. Real world FE comes out much less. This tuning also leads to a weak midrange. The current petrol Swift is the perfect case to point.
means??? wt is the case in swift?
Unrealistic claimed figure. 13kmpl in city is the norm. And the mid range of the engine is particularly weak.
Jazz gives 21 on highways for me…in city peak traffic (Delhi) it gives 14. . .
21 toh kuch jyaada ho gya…diesel hai kya
Yeah.!!
thank u
Its a sequential kit, make: BRC
thnks

Between the i10 and the Wagon-R, the Wagon R is the more practical choice – more space and flexibility and more mileage. You’ll also get a few more safety features (in the VXi option pack), compared to a similarly priced i10 Magna.
Between the two, i20 is probably the more stylish. Pure value for money, wagonR wins. Mileage is also slightly better than i10 in the city.
if ur looking for cheaper and prpper SUV go for duster if you are not a regular off roader go for xuv 5oo
Take a look at this story for more info: http://www.cartoq.com/renault-duster-vs-mahindra-xuv500-how-they-are-different/
They are from two different segments. The top-end Duster is priced at 11.3 lakhs, while the base XUV500 W6 is priced at Rs. 11.6 lakh ex-showroom. The XUV offers far more features, space and power. Duster has a price advantage and perhaps looks. They are otherwise not comparable. Here’s more:…[Read more]
