Hi, no, the mounting points are different. You will also need to change the bonnet and fenders to go with the new headlamp design. Not worth the effort. Why would you want to do that? Instead get HIDs / projectors in your existing headlamps (this is a popular aftermarket accessory fitment now).

The new headlamp on the Storme are very different in shape from the older Safari. This would either require a custom fit with modifications to the fender, hood and internal mounting points or a change of these components which makes it a very expensive affair.
As suggested above, you could rather opt for a Bi-Xenon HID set-up with projectors on…[Read more]

You’ll have to check with your car accessory person there. There are no “big” brands, mostly imports from Taiwan & China. They are functional enough. As for HIDs – P8 and Philips are good.

Both cars have poor third rows that are really not usable for adults. Between them, the XUV offers better space and support, but boot space reduces to an absolute zero when the third row is in use.

If you want to sit like a normal person, the XUV500′s third row allows for that. But if you want to meditate cross-legged, pick the Rexton as the third row is at floor level! Of course, space wise, the Rexton has more, but the seating posture is uncomfortable.

A lot better than these two. Thigh support is average but legroom is acceptably good. The middle row slides forward and back, allowing you to manage the space as required. Basically, medium sized adults can manage without much trouble. They’l get dedicated AC vents as well as cubby holes. Also, the vehicle provides a decent amount of boot space…[Read more]

If you want to just swap bulbs with the same wattage, pick a pair of Osram Nightbreaker 55W/60w. They light up the road much better, with the same stock wattage (Price Rs. 1,100 a pair). If you want to upgrade, fit Philips Rallyvision or Hella 90w/100w bulbs with a Hella ceramic holder and wiring kit (1,280 for kit, plus 800 odd of bulbs).

        +1 to the above mentioned.
        1. Osram Nightbreakers 60/55W but as powerful as a 100/90W..
        2. Hella 100/90W with a relay.
        3. Phillips Rallye 100/90W with a relay.

Check the tire pressure. This is supposed to be done on cold tires. So make sure you do it first thing in the morning, as tires warm up in just a few km of driving.

I DRIVEN MY XUV AWD 1000 KMS NONSTOP , AVG MILEAGE SHOWING WAS 14.5 , WHEN I CHECKED IT WAS AS THE SAME, FINISHED FIRST SERVICE, IT MAY BE LOW TIRE PRESSURE OR INFOTAIN MENT PROBLEM.

Under what conditions are you getting this low fuel efficiency? If it is heavy city traffic, then that is acceptable, but otherwise, you should get over 12 kmpl in city going up to 14 plus on the highway.

I think in City driving conditions…11.1 is not that bad for XUV 500…
On the highways t should serve you well over 14kmpl..

11.1 kmpl is low for the XUV, unless you are in a city like Bangalore or Bombay and drive in peak traffic conditions all the time with the ac on. Tell me, have you calculated this mileage on a tankful to tankful basis or is it the mileage showing on the MID? The XUV MID is not known to be very precise.

No, but the company is calling XUV dealers to replace their brake pads and brake pedals. The upgraded version of the XUV will probably come with the new brake pads and pedal, and a bunch of other well known problems might be fixed too.

Suspension and comfort: major advantage to the Storme. Engine: both vehicles have strong engines, but XUV has a 6 speed gearbox. Its a bit more efficient too. Driving position: very good on both cars. Storme has comfier seats. VFM: Storme is priced lower but not much kit on the base model. XUV has always been fantastic VFM

While Mahindra has not reached Toyota levels of quality but overall reliability and longevity is acceptable provided it is maintained properly. The point is that the XUV500 doesn’t have any real competition at…[Read more]

You just can’t really be assured about its reliability and in any case the third row is too cramped to be used for any good length of time. If you are looking for a genuine 7 seater, restrict your choices to the Innova and the Aria. Especially the Aria, as you’l get the loaded Prestige 4×2 model well within your budget after the handsome…[Read more]
