They are from different segments and hence direct comparisons will be difficult to make and justify. However, the Verna is a better car than the i20 in handling and ride comfort.
entirely different segments…
dont know about hyndai i20 but for sure even fluidic verna and the old verna have handling issues at high speeds, they are not stable
Actually both are not good handler
Yes, both the cars are not the best in handling but what they offer as an overall package is almost unmatched in the respective segments and therefore being sold in huge volumes in Indian car market.
Wonder why people dont like i20′s handling, I have new i20 fluidic design, and quite happy with handling even at 120kmph
Yes, you can fit a turbo charger in the Honda City. You apparently get a full kit for the Honda City Type I an Type II manufactured by HKS. Many modifiers like Hyperperformance Motorsports and Autopsyche do this type of mods. Will get you specifics from @abhik das who’s had some experience with a souped up City.
Just curious what are type1 and type 2 honda city ?
http://www.facebook.com/pages/Honda-City-Type-II/111942862150959 this is type two and before one is type i
There are plenty of options for the City Type 1 which came with the B15B9 engine which is basically a D15 engine. Check out this site for a turbo kit http://www.ssautochrome.com/level.itml/icOid/1629.
You could also keep the car NA and got for porting and ITBs (Individual Throttle Bodies)

@Roshun is the best person to answer this.
Usually manufacturers have some cars kept out as media cars. They are not bought by car magazine people for review. Such cars are later used by the company for internal usage or maybe circulated with the dealers etc. Using them depends on the manufacturer but for the initial part, car magazine people are given the cars for review by the company.…[Read more]
Thankfully we don’t have to BUY each of these cars
All carmakers keep aside a few cars for the media to preview / review, and those are the cars that we get to test and video film. One needs to request the company through its communications team for these cars. Even freelancers can do this if you maintain effective public relations with the…[Read more]
Kindly Explain meaning of Freelancers…
Thanks for the valuable answers, Do dealers give for testing or we need to approach the plant ? where exactly we can get them ? Is it possible in every city ? @Rosun povaiah
HONDA BRIO
Honda Brio, on all three counts. Perhaps not on resale as yet,its very difficult to beat the Swift for that
see always we have resale value for maruthi than any other brand . like an example the dolphin honda city is around 9.5 lakhs on road the resale value after 2 years is 2.7 lakhs ! which is a inflation in the price and coming to etios its a decent vehicle but we cannot expect a good resale unless its a diesel ….. so the answer is DEZIRE VXI…[Read more]
Actually the Dezire VXI has better resale and the Etios Liva has the most space. But with the Liva petrol’s lack-lustre engine, it is better to buy the Dzire VXI or buy the Brio. You can also look at the Swift ZXI. At around Rs 6.4 lakhs on-road in Delhi, I consider a better deal than the Brio.
diesel verna set the sales chart on fire.true mile cruncher.very difficult to find one with low kms on the odo.verna with more than 50-1L KMS is available in 4.5-6lac range.check for the condition of turbo, gearbox, brake pads, tyre, clutch assembly, accident free, service history.for 4.5 lacs u have these options
getz crdii,swift ddis,octavia 2004-2007 tdi,05/06 safari/scorpio
the difference in variants depends entirely on you, but for your query select the one between vdi and zdi whichever appeals to u in terms of feature list , zdi offers airbags, abs, climate control ac, a high end music system with auto volume (volume gets adjusted with the speed of the car), illuminated audio control on steering, height adjustable…[Read more]
great …. lemme know about LDI0 variant too
Swift diesel has a long waiting period, if I understand you correctly, its not possible to buy swift diesel in seconds. All variants of swift diesel cars use same DDIS engine. The highest variant (ZDi) comes with 15 inches alloy wheels, ABS, Airbags, Inbuilt music systems etc where as LDi and VDi come with 14 inches steel wheels and not equipped…[Read more]
since ldi is the basic variant the feature list is cut down short too, here are some features missing in the ldi version. 1. music system, 2. power windows , 3. alarm system, 4. central and remote locking, 5. body colored door handles,6. turn indicators on orvm, 7. electric adjustable orvm, 8. front and rear fog lamps, 9. tachometer and also all…[Read more]
ZDi is always the first preference but if budget is not flexible go with the VDi. LDi is not VFM.
this seems to be funny , if it has braking issues under 5 or 5 kmph , with half clutch where brakes becomes hard where people face problems in traffic like bumper to bumper …… how come this be a best city-driving car … experts correct me if i’m wrong ?
There’s not a very large market in India for 3-door cars. Part of the reason the Tata Sierra didn’t do too well was the 3-door concept. Maruti had a limited edition 3-door Zen. Yes, there will be some takers in the age group you mentioned, but it’s not a significant enough market size. Sooner or later, buyers would want to have people easily get…[Read more]
Venkat, that market is very small in numbers. Maruti once had a 3-door Zen. Did not sell at all.
yeah zen carbon and steel and i feel those two are very comfy vehicles .
very much excited about the new vw up ! hope it will be launched in India soon
