ex-showroom.
Surely it is reliable to buy a used car from a certified dealer rather than buying it from someone else because they don’t sell damaged cars and that is why they are certified.
Not necessarily that a certified dealer would be reliable. You still need to carry out your checks on the car. Some dealers offer a six-month warranty on the car – and that’s useful. Otherwise do check things like odometer tampering and service record of the car: http://www.cartoq.com/used-cars-how-to-detect-tampered-odometers/
“Certified” dealers are more of a sham. You need to be extra cautious with them, because the scale of their business allows them to tamper cars without getting caught and they charge extra commission in process. And then, the customer is unsuspecting because they are, well, “certified” and they do take advantage of it. All the rules of buying a…[Read more]
Normally if you buy mitsubishi cars it is difficult to find its spare parts but if you know someone from where you can get the spare parts easily then its not a problem and its maintenance cost is pretty much high.
Mitsubishi cars are well built, but spares are hard to come by. If you are in a large city, you would most likely have a mitsubishi dealer and can get spares. But elsewhere it is difficult. The Lancer is cheap to buy but now not in production and so spares are a bit of an issue.
The savings are not really passed on to you, but the cars under 4 metres are attractively priced – Eg. Dzire (under 4 metres) vs Etios (over 4 metres) in the same car category. The Dzire is much cheaper.
Cars under 4m and under 1200cc(petrol) and 1500cc(diesel) are taxed 12% excise duty, compared to 24% for the others. As mentioned above, not much benefit is passed on to the customer. The car company earns extra, both in terms of margin and lower metal and material costs. We get underpowered engines and lesser cabin and boot space in process
I don’t think so. The car maker saves and we save some money also. We may loose leg room and boot space but the engines are the same. For example : Dezire old version New dezire uses the same engine. Honda Amaze uses 1.5 litre engine. Indigo Cs uses the same engine like in Indigo old version.
@polumuris We get these engine because manufactures don’t want to use bigger engines for not being able to avail the lower excise. The 1.5 on the Amaze is an India-tailored version of the international 1.6(1500cc+). VW’s 1.2TDi is the Vento’s 1.6TDI minus a cylinder, just to get under the stipulated cut off at minimal expense. Why do you think the…[Read more]
Unfortunately odometer tampering is very rampant in India. Statistics show that nearly 80% of used cars have had odometers tampered with, especially those bought from dealers. See: http://www.cartoq.com/used-cars-how-to-detect-tampered-odometers/
You cant judge a car manufacturer by only one car which it has made it depends from car to car but If you are looking for a long term reliable, fuel efficient and good build quality cars with loads of space you cannot go wrong with a Toyota vehicle i would personally suggest you to go with a Toyota vehicle. Now it depends on you and your budget…[Read more]

i wud suggest Honda City CNG if budget is not a problem…. n it can fulfill all ur demands too…
Yup. Among the factory fits, Honda City is the best of the lot. If you are open to making the conversion aftermarket, then the Laura TSi and the Accord also come into the picture.
Hona City cng..best///
Wait for a little…..
Cng ertiga is on cards…
WagonR is well suited to bad road abuse. The car has good GC and short overhangs. Maruti has suitably modified the rear suspension to take care of the extra weight of the gas tank. Best part: even if things do go bad, replacing/overhauling the suspensin is quite economical and your friendly neighborhood mechanic can do it for you.
HOW IS THE PERFORMANCE…?
More or less the same as on petrol. You notice the difference only with 5 on board or when climbing inclines with AC on
Dont go for Nano. Its a brilliant car, but only in the city. Its not sturdy enough for the village roads.
In between Alto and Eon, its hard to differentiate between Mileage and Long time ownership, because they are the same. So in case of suspension, and also Ground Clearance (You should have that as a major factor) go for the Eon. It has 10mm…[Read more]
Alto 800 would be ideal in this case.
Alto 800…. It is more fuel efficient, has better suspension and definitely will serve you in long run (being a Maruti)
The Eon too would make sense as it is a well built car meant to compete with the likes of the Alto 800. Biggest advantage over the Alto 800 has to be the space it has to offer when compared to the slightly cramped Alto 800.
Cramped interior is no more in new Alto 800, height and width have been significantly increased and there are lot of aesthetic changes can be seen inside. The power output has been cleverly increased from the same F8D engine in new Alto 800. Unlike the previous Alto there is no significant power drop while turning on AC. But I believe the biggest…[Read more]
You get the 85hp Duster. Fiat Punto and Linea. And the SX4.
Stick with brands that have easy service accessibility in remote / rural areas – Maruti, Hyundai, Mahindra, Tata. SX4 would be good. If you want an SUV – Scorpio or Safari (although they do have slightly higher maintenance costs in the long term).
Hai roshun i saw your car Review videos in Youtube so far best reviwes yet. Especialy on mileage. Keep it up. Than i want to know which diesel hatchback is value for Money and best mileage with very Good suspension

A good hatchback for rough roads – the Fiat Punto diesel, good mileage, good ground clearance, tough suspension. Another car that is also worth checking out now is the Tata Vista Quadrajet – it has taken all the good bits of the Punto, except for the design. See if this helps: http://www.cartoq.com/big-and-tough-premium-hatchbacks-for-bad-roads/
Hai roshun i am very interested in i20 diesel,Swift zdi diesel,Chevrolet beat. This Three my top choice but how thé maintanance and mileage orders of those Cars. Especially i am very interested in i20 features. Is it i20 got higher maintanance compare to. Other two….? My budget is not Care but i NEED very low maintanance and best mileage pls…[Read more]
None of these cars can be called the ideal choice for village roads. Cut out the i20 certainly and the Swift ideally. Beat with its good GC and short overhangs will serve you well though. It is the most efficient car in the market toady and is available with the maintenance package. Which means you pay for nothing but the fuel for 3 years, simple.
