Do need the boot of the Dzire? It doesn’t really serve much of a purpose if you don’t want a boot for the visual impact of a sedan. The i20 is a great car, looks better than the Dzire and in Rs.8 lakh you get a feature loaded hatchback. I’d suggest you go for the i20 and travel in style 
i20 Asta diesel will over shoot 8L by quite some amount. Check out the new Vista D90 from Tata, great VFM, features, space. You can also look at the Punto which may fit in the 8L budget post discounts on the 90HP. Both these options are better than the i20 sportz and the dzire vdi, all four cars with a budget of 8L.
Ahh thats right! You will have to opt for the i20 1.4 Sportz if you go in for one.
