Mercedes-Benz C-Class and S-Class go topless!

This is the perfect weather in India for the wind in the face drive, except the pollution of course and Mercedes-Benz has launched 2 new cabriolet cars in India to fulfil your dream. The German company launched their 10th and 11th vehicles this year in India in form of C300 Cabriolet and S500 Cabriolet. With these two in the line-up, Mercedes-Benz now has the largest number of convertibles in the line-up.

C300 Cabriolet

Price: Rs. 60 lakh ex-showroom, Delhi

Mercedes-Benz-C-Class_Cabriolet-2017-1280-05The C300 becomes the smallest cabriolet in the Mercedes-Benz line-up in India. The car looks pretty much similar to the sedan version of the C-Class except the necessary changes for becoming a cabriolet. The car gets a fabric roof to start with. The roof can be folded down or cover up the car in 20 seconds and can be operated below the speed of 50 km/h.

The two-door cabriolet looks brilliant even with the roof closed. There is dual rear LED tail lamp and a muscular shoulder line to emphasise the sporty rear end.The car comes with 5-Twin-spoke 17-inch alloy wheels as standard.

The power comes from a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that works to put out a maximum of 241 BHP along with peak torque of 370 Nm. The engine gets a 9-speed 9G-Tronic transmission. The cabriolet is pretty quick and can touch 100 km/h from standstill in just 6.4 seconds. The speed is electronically limited to 250 km/h.

The two-door cabriolet gets classy interiors with leather upholstery, and steering wheel also wrapped in leather. The dashboard gets grafted in wood with an analogue clock placed in the centre of the console. The instrument cluster gets 5.5-inch display that shows up all the information in a convenient way.

The car also gets ambient lighting and an AIRCAP that brings down the air turbulence radically when the roof top is down. There are 13 high-performance speakers tailored for the vehicle from Burmester.

S500 Cabriolet

The S500 Cabriolet is the top-of-the-line convertible from Mercedes-Benz. The car drips of uber luxury and shares the design elements with the S-Class Coupe. The car gets powered by 4.7-litre V8 biturbo engine that produces a maximum of 443 BHP and 700 Nm of peak torque. The car can do 0-100 km/h in just 4.6 seconds while the top speed is electronically limited at 250 km/h. The engine is mated with a 9-speed 9G-Tronic transmission unit.

The roof can be operated below 50 km/h and takes about 20 seconds to completely open or 17seconds close down. Mercedes-Benz will have an option of 9 body colours and 4 fabric roof colours with the S500 Cabriolet. There are flat LED tail lamps and chrome trim that runs above the headlamp giving it a very classy touch. The car comes with beautiful 19-inch alloy wheels.

The interiors are designed by the designo with nappa leather all around. There are illuminated door sill and many other styling features. Mercedes-Benz offers offer 13,000 possible customisation options with the S500 Cabriolet that makes sure that no two S500 Cabrio are the same.
