Hi guys, I’m upgrading from a hatchback and need suggestions. The Maruti Ertiga seems to be a good choice under RS. 10 lakh as that is my budget.I was initially considering the new Dzire but since the Ertiga has almost all the aspects of Dzire and its a big car, I am confused. Plus I want a car which has low maintenance and gives me good mileage so should I go for Dzire or Ertiga? Or should I wait for the Ford Ecosport which is to be launched in June this year?

Yes Santosh the Ertiga is definitely a better choice than the Dzire and you are right when you say that the Ertiga will give you all the benefits that the Dzire would, in fact it'll give you more! The Ecosport is going to be a five seater so if you are looking for a 7-seater the Ertiga is a better choice!
what ertiga has got is flexible space. Use it as a five seater with lots of luggage space, or as a basic 7-seater. It drives like a swift. As reliable as all marutis are. But lets think again - you want to upgrade. And you are considerign Ecosport. It is a 5-seater SUV, and it will come out (probably) in petrol first and then in diesel. Ford cars (apart from Figo) are not really low priced, so chances are EcoSport will be not be cheap, though still below 10 lakhs. So... if you really want a compact SUV (cos an SUV is cool, and Ecosport looks very modern etc) then its safer to wait.

Thanks Babychen...i forgot to mention i was looking at the diesel version,zdi to be precise..my bad...Ecosport was in consideration coz for its looks....dont know how the interior woukld look like or what the features are...saw the concept car and thought of taking a suggestion from u guys.....plus as u said diesel version will take time to come....though ertiga also has a waiting period of atleast six months in navi mumbai,thane area(thats what the dealer said)..dont know if i have to wait for more time...
Between dzire and ertiga, the choice is pretty clear - if you can, you should choose Ertiga. Ertiga has not been in the market for even a month, so we don't know actual waiting periods yet.
