Hi
Need some advice here. My Dzire Vdi tyre got flat and seems to have got a cut. Though the car has just run 30000kms in 1.5yr, two tyres are quiet flat. These were OEM and I am thinking of upgrading with Michilen. Are there different models in tyre for dzire or just a regular size of tyre is enough. Please help…

Dzire Vdi is badly under-tired. Wider tires recommended. Z models have 185/65R15. You can easily upsize to that or even 195/60 section tires but you' have to inch up. In case you do not want to change the rims. You can go upto 185/65 but not more as the stock rim may not be wide enough. Remember that when you go in for wider tires, looks and grip improve significantly but at a small expense of fuel economy and a slightly heavier steering. Ride may be slightly stiffer too. Pick any reputed brand. Bridgestone, Michelin, Pirelli, Hankook, Yokohama...all are good
Thanks for your reply, would keep the stock rims as I find that dead investment and headache to change. Persoanlly have felt Michelin are better then Bridgestone. What would you suggest from the ones you mentioned. I want reliable and long lasting.
Also suggest if I put 185/65R14 the Ground Clearance will be the same?
Michelin Energy XM1+ or XM2. Both are long lasting. There are two sizes available: 185/65R14 and 185/70R14. You can go in for either. Ground clearance will NOT be affected. I hope you are changing all 4 tires together. If you are changing only 2, get the new bigger tires fitted on the rear and use the old tires on the front. You can then get the fronts changed later at your convenience. I'v tried this makeshift arrangement in my Scorpio and it works rather well. But it is makeshift.
Any idea about the pricing
Atul Michelin tyres will cost you more than your regular tyres, they are very good in terms of the grip and comfort they provide but a tyre dealer personally told me that Bridgestone lasts longer than Michelin and performance is also pretty good.
I have heard the other way round, personally used both and prefer Michelin.
Just a hint about pricing will help alot. Anyone???
Each tyre is costing me 4700 for xm2, xm1+ discontinued.
Got fleeced, as usual Tyre sellers are most distrusted ppl in automobile.
End of TYRE ERA
Where are you based? I also got ripped off by a very well known Tyre seller in santacruz, saifee tyres. Sold old stock tyres to me, which didnt last long.
Cant belive it, same shop bro Saifee in Santacruz opp Gokul. Always had heard negative about him. Tried him after 10yrs and swear never to go again.
But actually all Tyre sellers trick you one way or the other. This Saifee has a big list of clients. Earlier I used to buy from Gobind Tyres. Next will be G.C. in Vile Parle.
Thereafter I have had great experience with Alibhai premji. The service guys there have attitude, but the products I got were genuine. The least anyone should do is provide us with genuine products when you are paying the full price for that.
