Renault Duster Petrol is powered by a dynamic 1.6 litre of 16 valve petrol engine which delivers a power f 101ps @ 5850rpm along with 145Nm of peak torque... The acceleration and pickup of the car is impressive n on the whole, the Renault Duster RxE is a true performer on and off road.. Renault claims the petrol Duster offers an avg. mileage of 13.4 kmpl.... Presently Duster doesn't have CNG variants & after market installations will void company warranty....
Thanks so much Nithish .. I am confused between Verna Petrol and Duster Petrol.. I will go for CNG which ever i ll buy...so seeking help for a car good with CNG...
shikhar, if you fit CNG in a new car, then you will lose warranty etc.. its better to wait till the warranty period is over I think..
To add to what Mathew warns about - that you will lose any warranty coverage, the long-term compatibility of the Duster's 1.6 engine with CNG is still unknown, although it should be possible.
Thanks Guys... I was thinking to install CNG after a years warranty only :)
You have CNG factory fit in the SX4, and CNG ready variant of the Honda City, both can run on CNG from day1, if you are open to other options and wish to save money on petrol bills.
THanks Amit.. what is the difference between Factory fitted CNG or if we get it from out side... As if i take factory fitted it will cost 65000 and if i can get it by my own it will cost less then 40000...
The prime difference between what comes factory fit (Maruti) or CNG ready (Honda) is that both these vehicles will retain standard as well as extended warranty. The engine has changes to run more efficiently on CNG, IIRC valve seats at the least. The suspensions too have changes to take the extra 100 - 150 kgs load which is a permanent weight in the boot. Finally an after market CNG kit not only voids warranty but also needs endorsement in the RC as well as an increased insurance premium since it has to be informed to the insurance company as well. Failure to notify and get the changes on the insurance copy will open doors for the insurance company to reject insurance claims. I would recommend you to stick to vehicles which have CNG from the OEM itself, to avoid all the hassles of an after market kit. Loss of warranty, RC endorsement, insurance endorsement and increase insurance cost are demotivating enough in my personal opinion to avoid a CNG after market kit to a new car. Regards.
