Hi, Rs.3.6 lakh for a 3+ year old Punto which has already clocked 50,000 kms isn't very cheap. fiat's have poor resale value so you should be able to bargain. Rs3 lakh would be a good price if the car is in great condition. From what I have heard even that would be a too costly for a Fiat but depends on the car too.
2.50-2.90 is the fair price for punto petrol in 3.60-70 lacs you will find punto diesel 2009 emotion variant here in mumbai.
As Rishabh has rightly mentioned, there seems to be some space to negotiate, but 3L would be too low unless it needs new tires, battery, insurance etc which will be an expense to you. Note that being a responsible manufacturer, Fiat has given Free of Cost (FoC) updates to cars, which would be 7 in my opinion for a 2009 car. Here is a link for the same - http://www.teamfiat.co.in/faqs-updates-database/3176-fiat-india-official-upgrades.html . Apart from that its a very well built car and you can opt for a paid upgrade for higher GC with the GC kit. Most niggles that were present in older cars should be taken care of if all the FoC updates have been done. FoC replacement can be done from any dealer, irrespective of the dealer from whom the car is bought and is purely based on VIN and completion of job on service records. Negotiate from 3.6L based on factors such as tires, battery, extended warranty (if absent), insurance (unless its recently renewed), any pending service, any scratches or damage to the body which will require money, anything else that needs to be fixed. In case the car is in pristine condition, the 45k service is done recently, meaning you can happily drive without spending any extra money for the next 6 to 8 months, then even 3.6L is a decent price. A similar new car would be around 8L (prices under revision), so less than 50% for a pristine condition car is decent. Note that its 1.4L engine is much stronger in the lower rev range as compared to most hatch backs which have a 1.2L, also its is much less strained and way more free revving than them as revs increase.
