I Want to buy a feature rich petrol sedan under Rs 8 lakh. It should have features like steering mounted controls, auto ac etc. Mileage is an important factor. Please advice. The cars in my mind are the Linea, Verna Fluidic and Honda City.

That's a short list, considering your expectations. I would add the Nissan Sunny, the VW Vento and the Skoda Rapid to your list. All these, especially the Sunny, are feature rich, well built and give decent mileage. If you wish to choose from the 3 you've listed, it would be either the Verna or the City [pending your impressions after a test drive :) ]
I would suggest the Verna SX, but guess its out of your budget

The Sunny XV will probably suit you best at this price. Push button start, key-less entry, steering audio controls, automatic climate control, ABS, two airbags - all part of std equipment. Among your list, the Hyundai Verna 1.6 VTVT comes close, with only drawback being a single driver's airbag only. Otherwise it has auto climate control, bluetooth, steering audio controls etc. City and Linea with these features are slightly over your budget.

Even with a stretched budget, the Sunny is still your best bet. The City V MT is available for a little over 8.5, but it still doesn't have a lot of the gizmos that the sunny has. do let us know what you've ultimately chosen.
No doubt Honda City is a class leader. Its Ivtec engine is one of the best in class for the pickup and handling. U will get a 2012 Honda city CE in bangalore for 8.5 lacs (Price in other city varies atlest 50k) and Other city you will get a City SMT. Dont go with the looks of verna or Vento. Japanese Toyota and Honda are making much better cars then Germans. Fiat i dont trust them atlest in Bangalore. Moreover compare the safty feature in New Honda City they have ABS and Airbags even at the base models.
