No it's not. The Gen 1 Wagon R steering was very light, this one is a bit hard yet very responsive.
The new Wagon R has a steering that is a bit more interactive. You can feel the road a lot more, you may look at that as a negative or a positive depending on how you prefer driving. It is harder in comparison to the old Wagon R but it is still quite light, if you look at it stand alone.
I have a Gen 1 Wagon R. Its steering is still as light as it was on day 1. You can turn it with a finger. The new K-Series Wagon R has a stiffer steering.
I own the 2008 Wagon R, for me its just perfect. Light for city driving and quite responsive for highway driving. Sudhi, if you want to know cars with feather light steering, try i10 and i20. :)
