Gurcharan, K&N air filters essentially increase the flow of air into your engine and help in better performance. They primary help you bump up power by 1 or 2 Bhps, however they have been known to increase mileage too. However, the fact that you have extra power may tempt you to drive in a more enthusiastic manner and the mileage doesn't really improve then ;) If you are light on the accelerator though then yes it will help you get better mileage but it is a performance air-filter so just enjoy that extra bit of performance instead of worrying about the mileage.
