In its diesel form, the linea is extremely frugal, has decent power but is low on interior fit and finish and is now dated compared to the new fiesta. However, in its petrol manual guise, the T Jet continues to be one of our favorite cars to drive whereas the new Fiesta's dual clutch autobox puts it in a different league altogether. To sum it up, if you are looking at an automatic, it the new Fiesta else in the manual variants it is the Linea. Take a TD with your family, that should clarify your thoughts further.
Fiat Linea for interior space, rear seat comfort and plush feel. Fiesta for drive and handling and features.
I feel Linea is strong and heavier comparatively and also sturdy enough for Indian conditions.. But then again, FORD offers amazing equipment and the interiors are just futuristic and the fuel economy figures are magical.. and not to forget that the price is on the higher side.. I don't know even a single person who said they liked the way FIESTA looks, despite being a generation ahead in other fronts. I doubt whether fiesta can accommodate 3 passengers in the rear...

I think both cars are quite evenly matched for a person who wants a fun-to-drive sedan. The Linea TJet is the most fun to drive manual car around below Rs 10 lakhs. The Fiesta petrol DCT automatic is the most convenient to drive with a superb auto gearbox. That's for petrols. For diesels, the Linea seems a little slower than the Fiesta. Ride and Handling of both cars is evenly matched but the Linea's weight might make it a little less "sharp". Fiesta's diesel engine is unbelievably quiet inside, but it seemed a little more cramped in the Fiesta than the Linea to me. Both are market duds currently, so take your pick.
