Safari Storme beats the Scorpio/XUV500/Fortuner

Yes, the Tata Safari Storme has established clear leadership in two new areas, areas where it was a back marker not so long ago. The 2.2 liter Varicor turbo diesel engine is at the center, helping the Storme beating rivals such as the Mahindra XUV500, the Scorpio and even the Toyota Fortuner 2.5 D4-D.

Tata Safari Storme

The 2.2 liter Varicor turbo diesel engine puts out 400 Nm of peak torque, 120 Nm more than the Scorpio 2.2 mHawk, 70 Nm more than the XUV500, and 57 Nm more than the Fortuner 2.5 D-4D. By Tata Motors’ own claimed figures, the Storme 400 accelerates from 0-100 Kph in just 12.8 seconds, and from 0-60 Kph in 5.2 seconds. Mahindra Scorpio

The Scorpio 2.2 is much more slower t0 100 Kph, with a timing of 13.44 seconds, while being faster to 60 Kph mark in just 5.15 seconds.
