The Suzuki Intruder 150 is just days away from launch in India, and here are a fresh set of spyshots, and even a video of the new cruiser. The Bajaj Avenger-challenging cruiser will be launched in India on the 7th of November. The fresh spyshots show that the Intruder 150 is almost a replica of the bigger 1,800cc Intruder.
Though the smaller bike’s engine displaces just 155cc, the looks give it a big bike appeal. The spyshots show all the design elements that make the Intruder 150 look quite substantial. The bike shares a lot of parts including the 155cc engine from the Gixxer, which is Suzuki’s most successful bike in India.
The Intruder 150’s air cooled engine produces 14.5 Bhp and 14 Nm. It is paired with a 5 speed manual gearbox. The new bike gets hydraulic disc brakes on both its alloy wheels, and also a single channel ABS system. The digital instrument cluster is also borrowed from the Gixxer and the same is the case with the exhaust. Though the bike has a small engine, the exhaust note seems to have been designed to make it sound quite thumpy. In fact the short video that we are putting below will give you an idea of how the bike sounds.
The cruiser weighs 148 kilograms, and comes with dimensions of 2,130 mm in length, 805 mm in width, 1,095 mm in height, and with a wheelbase of 1,405 mm. It gets LED head and tail lamps. The front and rear tyres measure 100 mm section and 140 mm in width.
We expect the Intruder 150 to be priced at Rs. 1 lakh. It’ll be about Rs. 20,000 costlier than the Bajaj Avenger 150 but offers more kit and a big-bike feel. This bike has potential to become a big hit in India as a lot of commuter bike buyers here seek the style and looks of a big cruiser along with the excellent mileage of a 150-200cc bike.
