The Tatas have redesigned their Tata Indica V2 incorporating a new variant to its Turbo range and adding more safety features. To be priced at Rs. 4.76 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), the new Indica V2 Turbo variant comes in three different colors, namely Salsa Red, Arctic Silver, and Carbon Black.

The new enhancement comes with the power of a turbo-charged intercooled engine, and also includes dual front airbags and anti-lock braking system (ABS). Though the new safety features will be available on the top end Indica V2 Turbo DLX, the Tata Indica range already comes with standard safety features like anti-submarine seats, side-impact beams, front crumple zone, collapsible steering column, energy absorbing bumpers and ELR type seat belts.

With safety being the key, the variant makes sure that it complies with European standards for full-frontal, offset-frontal and rear crash for passenger survivability. The report said that the variant comes with the powerful 1405 cc turbo-charged inter-cooled diesel engine that delivers a power of 68 PS at 4500 rpm and a high torque of 130 nm at 2500 rpm.

The Tata Indica V2 has been amongst the top three selling cars in the industry and its segment for the last several years, with production of over 8 lakh units since its launch.
