Upcoming Mahindra Scorpio caught on test, launch soon

Mahindra Scorpio has been the first choice of many SUV lovers. However, newer options in the market have diverted many customers from the rugged SUV. Mahindra is now working on a facelift version of the vehicle three years after the launch of the second generation Scorpio.

The new Scorpio has been caught testing in Nashik, which also has the manufacturing facility of the SUV. The facelift version of the Scorpio is expected to get more features and also get cosmetic updates to keep it fresh in the market. The engine options and the transmissions are expected to remain same as the current version of the vehicle.

The heavily camouflaged version of the Scorpio indicates that the front and the rear profile of the vehicle will get minor updates. The front end is expected to receive a new grille, which is similar to the Mahindra’s Imperio pick-up truck. The headlamps will also get upgraded and will be sleeker than the current version. There will be no changes to the dimensions or the side profile of the vehicle. However, we may see a new set of alloy wheels. At the rear, the new Scorpio may get a redesigned tailgate with subtle changes. The tail lamps are expected to remain same as the current version.

On the inside, the Mahindra Scorpio is expected to get a lot of upgrades too. We can expect a new 7-inch touch-sensitive infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay that is now available with the Mahindra XUV 500.

The 2.2-litre mHawk engine is expected to remain same but Mahindra may do some tweaks to make it more powerful or extract more fuel efficiency out of it.
