Maruti Suzuki Ertiga – March 2012
Looks: The Ertiga is a 7-seater multi-purpose vehicle, which is quite car-like in styling. The front of the Maruti Suzuki MPV will have a striking resemblance to its smaller sibling the Ritz small car and a bland rear with wide rear windscreen. The interiors of the Ertiga resemble that of the new Swift. However, unlike the Swift which has black/grey interiors, the Ertiga gets beige interior including the dashboard and steering wheel.
Performance: The Maruti Suzuki MPV will likely be powered by the same 1.3 litre DDiS diesel engine that powers the diesel version of the SX4 and makes 89 bhp of power. There are expectations that Maruti Suzuki may also launch the Ertiga with a 1.4-litre K-series engine that makes 95 bhp of power.
Mileage: The Ertiga may return a mileage of around 15 kmpl for the petrol version and 17 kmpl for the diesel version.

Chevrolet Enjoy – June 2012
Looks: Chevrolet showcased its MPV Concept at the 2012 Delhi Auto Expo. To be known as Enjoy, the upcoming Chevrolet MPV is a proper 7-seater, but much more compact than the Chevrolet Tavera. GM has played safe by keeping the looks of the MPV Concept neat and simple. The simplicity begins with the smiling chrome grille, minimalistic lines on the sides and a practical boot design with conventional taillamps.
Performance: The Enjoy will likely be powered by a 1.4-litre petrol engine and 1.3-litre diesel engine choice, but specifications are yet to be revealed.
Mileage: Expect the Chevrolet Enjoy to return a mileage of around 12 kmpl while the diesel version may return around 15 kmpl.
Variants and prices: We expect the upcoming Chevrolet MPV to be priced similar to the Ertiga (Rs. 7 lakh onwards), and cater to large family buyers.
Nissan Evalia – November 2012
Looks: Nissan showcased the Evalia at the 2012 Delhi Auto Expo. At first glance the Evalia is very van-like, considering it has sliding doors on the sides, a large tail-gate, and enough luggage space with seven comfortable seats. When you look at its practicality and space, it is an interesting proposition. The interiors of the Evalia will likely house a maximum of eight seats in three rows (2+3+3) seat layout.
Performance: The Evalia is expected to be powered by the 1.5-litre diesel motor that powers the Micra diesel hatchback. The power output of this engine will either be 85 bhp (as in Nissan Sunny diesel) or bumped up to 108 bhp.
Mileage: Expect the Evalia to have a mileage of around 13 kmpl.
Variants and prices: The Evalia could be priced in the range of Rs. 8 lakh – Rs. 13 lakh and will compete with the Toyota Innova and Mahindra Xylo.
Force Motors MPV – November 2012
Looks: The Force MPV is speculated to be based on the Mercedes-Benz Viano. But there are no spy shots of Force MPV test mules to confirm this news. Hence, we have to wait for the Force MPV looks till the first test vehicle spy shot surfaces the internet.
Performance: Though there are no clues as to which engine will power the upcoming passenger van, there are chances that Force motors will use OMG 611Daimler engine owing to the company’s engine-sharing trends with Daimler. This 2.2-litre, common-rail diesel) produces 139 bhp of power. Read a review of the Fore One by CarToq Expert Devdath Narayan here.
