The 2014 Ford Fiesta Sedan facelift was launched in India a couple of weeks ago. Armed with sharp pricing, the Fiesta Facelift is now a car that has made itself very attractive to C+ Segment sedan buyers who place driving pleasure over back seat comfort. The car’s sharp design does turn heads and Ford India has released a video that goes through the various design highlights of its latest car. Also, the Fiesta Facelift features the latest version of the SYNC in-car infotainment system that comes with voice assist, AppLink and many other interesting features. The SYNC system has been featured in a separate video.
With the facelifted Fiesta sedan, Ford has attempted to increase the visual width of the car from the rear, addressing customer concerns of the Fiesta’s rear looking too tall for comfort. The front follows the American automaker’s global design philosophy that features a massive hexagonal front grille, that gives the car Aston Martin inspired looks. Coming to the improved SYNC in-car infotainment system, Ford wants to ensure that the driver’s hands are on the steering wheel and eyes on the road, minimizing the risk of accidents. This is the major motivation for the voice assist feature on the SYNC.
The new Fiesta is powered by a 1.5 liter-4 cylinder turbo diesel motor (89 Bhp-205 Nm), the solitary engine option on the car. The transmission is a manual affair with 5 forward ratios and 1 reverse ratio. The front wheel driven sedan comes with outstanding driving dynamics and features the best ride and handling package amongst its peers. In terms of safety equipment, Ford India has made ABS+EBD standard across all three variants of the car, with the top end Titanium variant getting twin airbags as additional safety kit.
