Over the past 2 years, Volvo has been changing the way we think about them. From the boring and not so stylish to the striking and elegant vehicles now, the company has come a long way. They have introduced a few new models, namely the all-new XC90, the S90, the S60 Polestar and the updates for the V40 and V40 Cross Country in India over the past 2 years. Now, they will launch the all-new XC60 in November, according to a report by NDTV.
Volvo launched the all-new XC60 at the Geneva Motorshow, a car that is expected to make it to India sometime later in the year. The XC60 is a mid-sized SUV that takes on the Audi Q5, the BMW X3 and the Mercedes GLC. The new XC60 looks a lot like its elder sibling, the XC90. It has the signature ‘Thor shaped’ LED headlamps that extend all the way to the grille.
On the inside, the car will get the similar digital instrument cluster and the large touch screen system that replaces all the buttons. It will get a Bowers and Wilkins sound system, 7 airbags, Apple Car play and Android Auto. India will most likely get the D5 diesel engine, which means a 2.0 liter engine making 232 Bhp and 480 Nm. It is based on the SPA (Scalable Product Architecture ) program which also underpins the XC90, S90 and the V90. In India, Volvo has been well known for bringing their vehicles fully loaded, and this will be no exception. We except the company to only bring in a single Inscription trim level initially, which will the top of the line variant followed by other variants.
We could also see a petrol engined XC60 coming in the future. The company is all set to start their own manufacturing facility here and the XC90 will be the first product that is made here. Given that the Volvos are already competitively priced, we expect he XC60 to be well priced when it is launched later in the year.
