December is a slow month when a lot of customers postpone their vehicle buying plans for the new year. This is when the manufacturers offer a lot of discounts to clear the old stock. Here are all the massive Rs. 1-lakh plus discounts on cars and SUVs for the month of December.

Renault Duster AMT

Discount: 1.3 lakh

Renault Duster scripted the success for the French brand in India. However, with the competition, the sale of the compact SUV slowed down lately. Renault is currently offering Rs. 1.35 lakh discount on the Duster AMT variant. There are lower discounts on the other variants too.

The AMT version is powered by the 110 PS rated 1.5-litre diesel engine. It generates 245 Nm of peak torque and a six-speed Easy-R AMT. The company is offering Rs. 90,000 in cash discount plus Rs. 7,000 off for the corporate customers. The first year insurance is also free.

Fiat Avventura

Discount: Rs. 1.1 lakh

The Avventura is Fiat’s take on a compact crossover. The vehicle is a lifted version of the Punto with the spare wheel at the back, on the outside. The Avventura has two engine options, a 1.3-litre diesel and a 1.4-litre petrol engine.

The petrol is the Abarth version making 138 Bhp and 210 Nm while the diesel is the 1.3 MJD making 92 Bhp and 209 Nm. The main advantage of the Avventura is the fact that it has 205 mm ground clearance, making it a suitable crossover. You can get a discount of up to Rs 1.1 lakh on the Avventura now.

Hyundai Tucson

Discount: Rs. 70K exchange + cash discount depending on variants

Hyundai is facing stiff competition from Jeep Compass in the segment. The Tucson, which is the quickest SUV in the segment is currently on an offer of Rs. 70,000 off if the customer exchanges the old vehicle. There are also dealer-level discounts that take up the complete discount to up to Rs. 1 lakh. The Tucson is powered by a 2.0-litre diesel engine that produces 182 Bhp – 400 Nm and 2.0-litre petrol that produces 150 Bhp – 190 Nm.

Mahindra Scorpio Pre-FL

Discount: Up to Rs. 1 lakh plus

Mahindra recently launched the new Scorpio with new, more powerful engine. The older version of the SUV is currently at a discount of up to Rs. 1,00,000. There is a cash discount of Rs. 1 lakh plus an exchange bonus and free first-year insurance.

Honda BR-V

Discount: Rs. 1 lakh

The BRV has been a slow-selling model for a while now. The company is offering a 1 lakh discount on the VX model and lower discounts on the other variants. The vehicle is powered by either a 1.5-litre petrol engine making 118 Bhp and 145 Nm or a 1.5-litre diesel engine making 99 Bhp and 200 Nm. The petrol can be had with a manual and a CVT gearbox, however, the max discount is for the manual variant.

Maruti Ciaz

Discount: Up to Rs. 1 lakh

The Ciaz has been the top-selling car in the segment for a few months. The sedan which is being sold through the premium Nexa dealerships is now available with a lot of discounts and offers.  The diesel variant of the car is available with Rs. 40,000 cash discount plus Rs. 50,000 exchange bonus. There is also dealership level discounts.

The Ciaz petrol is offered with Rs. 80,000 discount. There is a Rs. 20,000 cash discount plus Rs. 10,000 corporate discount. The consumers also get Rs. 50,000 as a loyalty bonus.

Volkswagen Vento

Discount: Up to Rs. 1.1 lakh

The Vento faces stiff competition from the likes of Honda City, Maruti Ciaz and Hyundai Verna in the market. To push the sales, Volkswagen is offering up to Rs. 1.1 lakh discount on the car. The discount is applicable on the top-of-the-line Comfortline variants, and the lower variants get a lower discount. There are additional Rs. 10,000 exchange bonus and Rs. 10,000 loyalty discount for existing VW customers.

Tata Safari Storme

Discount: Rs. 1 lakh

With Tata’s ‘Mega Offer Max Celebration’ scheme, the Tata Safari Storme is available with a heavy discount of Rs. 1 lakh. The SUV is known for its straight-line performance. The ladder-on-frame vehicle is powered by the 2.2-litre engine in two states of tunes. The lower variant of the Storme is powered by a 2.2-litre diesel engine that produces a maximum of 148 Bhp – 320 Nm. The VARICOR variant of the car is powered by the same 2.2-litre VARICOR engine that generates 154 Bhp – 400 Nm.

Hyundai Elantra

Discount: Rs. 70,000 plus dealer discounts

Hyundai launched the premium saloon, the Elantra earlier this year in India. The sedan is currently available with a discount of Rs. 70,000 which is applicable if you’re exchanging your old car. There is also loyalty bonus and dealership level discount that takes the total discount to Rs. 1 lakh.

Nissan Terrano

Discount: Rs. 77,000 + free insurance

The Terrano is a rebadged version of the Duster sold by Nissan in India. The car is powered by the same engine options as the Duster and gets slight changes on the outside and the interiors. Nissan is offering a cash discount of Rs. 77,000 on the Terrano plus giving free first-year insurance that takes the total discount to Rs. 1 lakh.

Maruti Ertiga

Discount: Rs. 95,000 plus dealers-level discount

The Ertiga is a popular 7-seater MUV in the market. According to ACI, it is available at a discount of Rs. 95,000 in the market. Customers can also get exchange bonus and additional discounts if they are already a Maruti customer.

Toyota Innova Crysta

Discount: Rs. 1 lakh

According to ACI, the new Innova Crysta is also available on discount of up to Rs. 1 lakh depending on the variant. The best-selling MUV in India is powered by both petrol and diesel engine options. The petrol engine option also gets an automatic transmission option.
