Hyundai Elite i20

Innova Crysta,

This is the cheapest six-speed car that you can buy in India. Hyundai offers a six-speed manual transmission with the Elite i20 and Active i20 diesel variants. The car is powered by a 1.4-litre turbocharged diesel engine that produces a maximum of 89 Bhp – 220 Nm. The six-speed gearbox allows the power and torque to be used efficiently by the vehicle.

Tata Nexon

The Nexon is the latest product from the brand and has gained a lot of popularity in a short time. The Nexon gets the 6-speed manual transmission with both petrol and diesel engine units. The petrol engine is a 1.2-litre turbocharged engine that produces 108 Bhp – 170 Nm. The diesel engine is a 1.5-litre unit that produces 108 Bhp – 260 Nm.

Hyundai Verna

Hyundai launched the all-new Verna in India a few months back and it is giving tough competition to the rivals. Hyundai only launched the 1.6-liter options of the petrol and diesel engines in the Indian market. Both the petrol and diesel engine options are equipped with 6-speed manual and automatic transmissions. The 1.6-litre petrol engine produces a maximum of 122 Bhp and 155 Nm while the diesel engine produces 126 Bhp – 260 Nm.

Renault Duster and Nissan Terrano

The Renault Duster is known for many reasons including its engine and gearbox. The diesel Duster is powered by 1.5-litre K9K engine that produces 108 Bhp – 245 Nm in its top-spec tuning. The engine is mated to a six-speed manual gearbox which makes it quite a fun to drive.

The rebadged sibling of the Duster in India, the Terrano gets an identical engine and transmission like the Duster. It is also powered by the same 108 Bhp – 245 Nm producing 1.5-litre K9K engine. The premium sedan was launched last year in India in an all-new form. The car gets 6-speed manual transmission option with both petrol and diesel engine options. The petrol engine is a 2.0-litre engine that produces a maximum power of 150 Bhp – 192 Nm. The diesel engine is a 1.6-litre unit that produces 126 Bhp – 260 Nm.

Mahindra XUV 500

The Mahindra XUV is the king of D-segment. The heavy SUV is powered by the 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine that churns a maximum of 140 bhp – 330 Nm. The power is transmitted to either the rear wheels or all the four-wheels through 6-speed manual transmission.

Renault Captur

Renault Captur is the latest entrant in the SUV segment in India. The good-looking Captur gets the engine and transmission similar to the Duster. It is powered by the 1.5-litre diesel engine that produces 108 Bhp – 245 Nm and comes mated to a 6-speed transmission.

Jeep Compass

The most affordable Jeep branded SUV in India has gained an instant fame. The Jeep Compass is offered with a six-speed manual transmission with the 2.0-litre Multijet diesel engine that produces 171 Bhp – 350 Nm. The six-speed transmission makes it a hoot to drive around in a city or a highway.

Tata Hexa

Tata launched the Hexa in India earlier this year. The premium SUV is powered 2.2-litre diesel engine with two different states of tuning. The higher variants are powered by VARICOR 400 engine that has an output of 154 Bhp – 400 Nm and comes with 6-speed manual and automatic transmission.

Toyota Innova Crysta
