Once upon a time Vijay Mallya was what Gautam Singhania was, and the liquor baron was seen going wheel to wheel at Sholavaram’s race track, bringing home many a trophy, of the trophy kind. Now a parliamentarian, Dr. Mallya enjoys his cars on private islands. He even has a museum to hoard his vintage cars. Beat that, and he runs a successful F1 team.

This fiesty actress, politician, green thumb and animal lover rolled into one is also a keen car nut. Gul Panag owns a custom built Mahindra Scorpio Getaway that she uses for getaways to the hills. The Discovery Channel even shot a documentary with the actress road tripping to the frigid reaches of the Himalayas, in her rugged pick up truck of course. She rides bikes too.

From tinkering around with the humble Maruti Suzuki Zen to go faster to owning the Ferrari F430, Bollywood actor Imran Khan has come a long way. The way ahead? Doing a James Bond with an Aston Martin DB9. Imran Khan’s idea of inheritance? Hoping that his daughter inherits his obsession for fast cars.
