Many manufacturers have waited for the new year to arrive eagerly. As most customers wait for the new year to buy new vehicles, manufacturers also line-up their products at this time. Here are 10 mega launches that will take place in January and February.

Maruti Ignis

The Ignis has been one of the most awaited cars in India. The car was supposed to be launched last year but production constraints of Maruti forced them to delay the launch. Maruti has now officially unveiled the car and the launch will happen on 13th January 2017. The Ignis will be sold through the premium Nexa dealership network.

The urban hatchback will be powered by both petrol and diesel engine options. There will be 1.2-litre petrol engine and 1.3-litre diesel engine. The power figures are not out yet. The Ignis will get 5-speed manual transmission as well as AMT option for both the engine types. Ignis will also come with ABS and dual airbags across all the variants. It will be the first car from Maruti to get the Android Auto feature along with Apple CarPlay integrated into its 7-inch display.

Tata Hexa

Tata will re-enter the premium crossover segment in India after the company failed to impress the market with the Aria. Tata has developed the Hexa on a clean sheet of paper and the launch will happen on 18th January. The Hexa comes with class-leading and segment first features like the terrain response system and is called as the best car Tata has made till date.

The big MUV is powered by the 2.2-litre Varicor 400 engine that churns out a maximum of 157 BHP and 400 Nm of torque. The SUV will get both manual and automatic transmission while the 4WD will be offered only with the manual transmission model.

Chevrolet Trailblazer

Chevrolet’s attempt to take on the SUVs like Toyota Fortuner and Ford Endeavour turned out to be futile with the Trailblazer. The American SUV even received a huge price cut to attract the buyers but could not find a lot of them. Now Chevrolet is preparing the facelift version of the SUV for next year. The manufacturer has already started testing the car in India.

The facelift model will be powered by the 2.8-litre Duramax diesel engine that generates a maximum of 197 BHP. In the current model, the car does not get a 4X4 system but with the update, the Trailblazer will also feature the 4X4 system.

Toyota Prius

For a long time, the Prius was the only hybrid available in India. The car was discontinued due to the low sales but Toyota is planning to bring back the car to India. The new Prius was showcased during the Auto Expo last year.

The full-fledged hybrid car is powered by a 1.8-litre petrol engine that produces a maximum of 96 BHP and 142 Nm of torque. The car also gets an electric motor that puts out a maximum of 71 BHP and 163 Nm. Overall, the Prius returns a maximum of 40 km/l.

Skoda Octavia Black Edition

The Octavia was updated in the international market last year. The Indian market, however, will get the Octavia facelift after some time. To keep the product fresh, Skoda will launch the special edition model of the car known as the Black Edition in India. The car will come with blacked out elements to give an aggressive look.

The will be 17-incg Teron black alloy wheels, black ORVMs, black roof, black trunk lid spoiler, black grille frame and a few more parts painted in the black. There will be no mechanical changes to the vehicle.
