The 2018 Auto Expo is around the corner. It is India’s biggest automotive show that sees participation from various manufacturers. It also sees an influx of multiple concept vehicles from the indigenous and international manufacturers. Here are ten concept vehicles that will be showcased at the 2018 Auto Expo.
Hyundai i30 N concept
The Elite i20 is quite popular in the Indian market. Hyundai has a bigger version of the hatchback in the international market. This year, Hyundai is expected to showcase the N-powered version of the i30 hatchback in its stall. The N-Power is the performance arm of the Korean brand.
The i30 N Power is still in concept stage. It is expected to be powered by 1.5-litre T-GDI turbocharged petrol engine that generates a massive 198 Bhp – 265 Nm.
Tata X451

Tata has a few products lined up for the year 2018. After marking its entry in the sub 4-meter compact SUV segment with the Nexon, Tata is now planning to enter the premium hatchback segment to rival the likes of Maruti Baleno. Codenamed as X451, it will become the first vehicle to be launched on Tata’s new Advanced Modular Platform (AMP). The X451 gets a very futuristic design with inputs from Tata’s Indian and European design teams.
The car is expected to be powered by the new 1.5-litre engine that is available with the 1.5-litre engine that is available with the Nexon. There will be a 1.2-litre turbocharged from the Nexon as well. The concept version of the vehicle is expected to be showcased at the Auto Expo 2018.
Tata Q501
Tata Hexa is doing decent numbers in the market. In 2018, Tata will come out with a new SUV in the market. Codenamed as Q501, the all-new SUV from Tata will be the first vehicle that has been developed with the Tata-JLR partnership. The car has been caught testing in India with Discovery Sport body on it.
The Q501 will use the same LR550 platform used by the Discovery Sport. The SUV will also get SUV components from the Discovery Sport. It is expected to be powered by a 2.0-litre Multijet diesel engine sourced from Fiat that also powers the Jeep Compass in India.
Suzuki e-Survivor
Maruti Suzuki is expected to showcase a range of vehicles at the 2018 Auto Expo. One of the most interesting ones will the e-Survivor that the Japanese maker showcased at the Tokyo Motor Show last year. The concept SUV is based on Jimny but is wider than it and is powered by four electric motors mounted each wheel. The cabin features a spherical display that shows the immediate surrounding. It also gets state-of-the-art sensors that reveal information to the screen.
Mahindra XUV Aero electric
Mahindra gave the green signal for the production of the XUV Aero. The SUV-Coupe styled vehicle will be the cheapest of its kind in India. Mahindra plans to launch an electrified version of the vehicle in the future. During the last Auto Expo, we saw the concept model of the XUV Aero. This edition of the Auto Expo will see an updated version of the XUV Aero that gets closer to the production version.
Mahindra KUV 100 electric
The KUV 100 is expected to be the next new electric vehicle coming out with Mahindra branding. Mahindra has already announced that they will launch the new car in 2018. There are not many details available about the battery and the range of the vehicle, but the monocoque vehicle will be showcased at the Auto Expo 2018.
Jaguar I-Pace
The Jaguar F-Pace was the first SUV from the Jaguar brand. The European manufacturer is now working on the second SUV, the I-Pace. This will be a full-electric vehicle that will be showcased by Jaguar at the 2018 Auto Expo.
Kia Stinger GT
Kia will enter the Indian market in 2019. Kia is yet to finalise the products that it will bring to the Indian market. However, it will be the Korean manufacturer’s first ever participation in the Auto Expo. The brand will showcase the Stinger GT, Kia’s top-of-the-line product. It will be bought to showcase Kia’s knowledge in the industry and show how well-rounded products they can make.
Kia Cee’d
The Cee’d is Kia’s one of the most selling models in the world. Kia is now working on the next-generation of the product and showcased the concept at the Frankfurt Auto Show. Kia is expected to bring the same at the 2018 Auto Expo for the viewers.
Land Rover Discovery SVX
The Land Rover Discovery SVX is made by the Jaguar Land Rover’s Special Vehicle Operations (SVO). The vehicle will be handmade and will take the centre stage of JLR’s pavilion at the Auto Expo. It will be powered by the range-topping 5.0-litre supercharged V8 engine that produces a maximum of 522 Bhp – 625 Nm.
Renault Symbioz
This is Renault’s first ever all-electric autonomous concept vehicle. It has been made from the ground’s up and the vehicle is expected to be in production form by 2030. The vehicle is envisioned on the time when the houses and vehicles will share the smart grid power layout. It will be unveiled at the 2018 Auto Expo.
