Performance is something that only a few selected car buyers look for when they choose their vehicles. However, there are many options in the aftermarket circuit to further enhance the performance of their vehicles. We bring you ten such vehicles that have been remapped with big power boosts in India.
Remapped power: 200 Bhp – 420 Nm
This is India’s most powerful Compass and it has been remapped by popular tuning house, Pete’s. The Jeep Compass diesel is powered by a 2.0-litre multijet diesel engine that produces a maximum power of 170 Bhp and 200 Nm of peak torque. The remapped version of the vehicle has an output of around 200 Bhp and 420 Nm which is around 18% increase from the original power. The remapping procedure costs around Rs. 24,000.
Remapped power: 140 Bhp – 340 Nm
The Renault Duster is one of the favourite SUVs in the market. However, the maximum power offered by stock Duster is 108 Bhp – 248 Nm. The Duster shown here is an AWD version and gets a few visual modifications too. Apart from the visual modifications, the Duster also gets Pete’s Stage 2 Code6Tuning performance remap that now produces 140 Bhp – 340 Nm. That’s an increase of 30%, which is quite a lot. The Pete’s remap also costs Rs. 24,000.
Remapped power: 148 Bhp – 300 Nm
The Creta diesel quite powerful even in the stock form. But there are a few enthusiasts who love more power under the bonnet. The stock 1.6-litre diesel engine in Creta produces a maximum of 126 Bhp – 260 Nm. Pete’s remap add a 20% extra power to the car. The remapped 1.6-litre diesel engine in Creta produces as much as 148 Bhp and 300 Nm, which is a lot of power.
Maruti Vitara Brezza
Remapped power: 115 Bhp – 255 Nm
The Brezza is known for its fuel efficiency but the owner of this vehicle wanted to squeeze out every ounce of performance from the engine. The 1.3-litre DDiS diesel engine of the Brezza produces a maximum of 89 Bhp – 200 Nm. Pete’s, a well-known provider of tuning chips in India offers a remap that takes the output to 115 Bhp – 255 Nm. It is 25% bumper over the stock output and makes the compact SUV much more fun to drive.
Mahindra XUV 500
Remapped power: 165 Bhp – 370 Nm
Even though Mahindra is planning to launch the 170 Bhp engine on the facelifted XUV 500, there is a remap by Wolf Moto for the XUV 500 that takes the power close to that. The Stage 1 remap takes the stock output of 140 Bhp – 330 Nm to 165 Bhp and 370 Nm. The remap costs around Rs. 28,000.
Maruti Suzuki Baleno RS
Remapped power: 125 Bhp – 200 Nm
The Baleno RS is the first hot hatchback from the brand and it is loved by many enthusiasts. The hatchback is powered by a 1.0-litre 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine and produces 101 Bhp and 150 Nm in stock form. The remapped version from Pete’s produces about 25% more power and 33 % more torque than the stock vehicle. The remap is priced at around Rs. 30,000.
Remapped power: 115 Bhp – 250 Nm
Ford recently launched the facelift version of the EcoSport but the diesel engine of the vehicle remains the same. The car is powered by a 1.5-litre diesel engine that produces a maximum of 99Bhp – 204 Nm. This car gets Pete’s remap that increases the power output by about 15% and torque output by about 12%. It costs around Rs. 25,000.
Remapped power: 175 Bhp – 380 Nm
Isuzu V-Cross is a lifestyle pick-up truck that has become quite popular in the market. The Isuzu V-Cross is powered by a 2.5-litre engine that produces a maximum of 134 Bhp – 320 Nm. The remap provided by Quantum takes up the power to 175 Bhp – 380 Nm. It costs around Rs. 35,000.
Hyundai Elite i20
Remapped power: 115 Bhp – 270 Nm
The Hyundai Elite i20 is a good looking vehicle and it is quite quick too. Pete’s offer a remap for the Elite i20 1.4-litre diesel engine that takes the stock power of 90 Bhp 220 Nm to 115 Bhp and 270 Nm. The remap is priced at around Rs. 26,000.
Volkswagen Polo GT TDI
Remapped power: 140 Bhp – 280 Nm
The Volkswagen Polo GT TDI is an enthusiast’s delight. ToT (Tune-O-Tronic) offers a very aggressive remap for the vehicle that increases the power output by about 30%. The remap costs around Rs. 28,000.
