10 surprises about the upcoming Maruti Swift

The Swift has been well received in the Indian market and has been a family oriented yet sporty offering from Maruti. There is an all-new Swift which was recently unveiled and is coming our way soon. Here are 10 surprises about the same:

Swift Sport coming…

For the first time ever, Maruti will also be bringing in the sporty version of the Swift, the Swift Sport. It will be powered by a 1.4 liter Boosterjet engine which will make 138 Bhp.

The company is also considering brining in the normal 1.0 liter Boosterjet, which they unveiled in the Baleno just last month. This though will be known at the time of launch only.

LED DRLs and projectors

The new Swift will come with LED DRLs and projector lamps, something that we have seen on the spy shots of the new Dzire as well. This will make the Swift a lot more appealing to look at.

Higher GC than Japanese model

For obvious reasons, India will be getting a car which will have higher ground clearance than the Japanese model. All cars in India get a rough road package to help cope with the bad roads. The Swift too will be raised for the Indian market. We just hope that looks don’t suffer.

Will have a sporty chassis setup

The Swift has always been a fun to drive car. Now that the company has the Baleno as their premium hatchback, they can look at making the Swift more sporty, to cater to the enthusiast market. Thus, the new Swift will have a stiffer chassis and will be setup with a stiffer suspension, so as to improve the handling on the car. This will help the Swift be a more driver focussed car.

Better equipped

The new Swift will come with a lot more bells and whistles. It will get a touch screen infotainment system with Apple Carplay and Android Auto. It will also get a new MFD and a flat bottom steering wheel. The top of the line may also get a reverse camera and parking sensors.
